Student answer (Band 5.0)
Due to the ease of watching films and dramas online, anywhere and anytime, some individuals say that this has results in reducing the value of theaters and cinemas to significant levels. Apart from that, other individuals make an argument about the importance of cinemas and theatres, saying these are these can play a vital role in promoting cutural values and developing economy. Both views will be discussed in detail with 1 solid reason. The discussion will also be concluded along with my personal opinion.
Some extent of the people have the opinion that digitilisation has over shadowed the entertainment world, impacting its values and importance. For this, they give the reason that nowadays the availability of dramas, films and other entertainment is easily accessable and can be watchable from anywhere. For example, a large portion of people who are very busy, they bairly get the time to go to cineams and watch shows. In this regard, waching films online is their most prefered option to meet thier requirement. As a result, the number of cinemas and theatres are getting fewer.
Coversely, other individuals thinks differently, their opinion is that theatres and cinemas has the potential not just to upgrade the economy of a country but also to showcase the culture values both to the world and new generation. On one hand, paying for the tickets to theatres and cinemas, would be advantageous in financial terms. Whereas, on the other hand, promoting only own dramas and films, it leads to new generation letting about their cultural values. As, online any type of entaintment is easily available.
In my point of view, both arguements have equal weightage. Both arguments has their own pros and cones. Neither we can deny how technolgy has made our lives easier than ever before and nor we can ignore that how traditional ways ar

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether cinemas and theatres remain important and providing an opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, particularly in the body paragraphs and the unfinished conclusion. For instance, the student mentions economic and cultural impacts in the introduction but only touches upon them briefly in the body, such as noting that paying for tickets is advantageous in financial terms. The position is stated, but the arguments are not fully extended or supported with specific, robust examples. The response meets the task requirements in terms of coverage and addressing the prompt, but the lack of complete development and the abrupt, trailing-off conclusion prevent it from reaching a higher band. Overall, it aligns well with Band 5 descriptors for task achievement due to the limited and partially under-developed ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some organisation with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and the attempted conclusion. However, overall progression is hindered by choppy sentences, repetitive phrasing, and logical lapses. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately at times, such as 'Coversely' and 'For this, they give the reason that'. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, as seen in sentences like 'For example, a large portion of people who are very busy, they bairly get the time...'. Most notably, the response breaks down entirely at the end, finishing with an incomplete sentence and a disjointed string of rough notes rather than a cohesive final paragraph. This lack of control over structural cohesion and the incomplete ending keep the coherence and cohesion score at Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student attempts to use a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including words like 'digitilisation', 'entertainment', 'advantageous', and 'cultural values'. However, there is a limited and repetitive range, alongside noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of errors include 'has results in', 'cutural values', 'accessable', 'watchable', 'prefered', 'waching', 'thier', 'arguements', 'weightage', and 'cones' instead of 'pros and cons'. Additionally, misspellings like 'bairly' and 'entaintment' reflect a lack of precision. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic points about cinemas and the digital age, the frequency of lexical errors places this performance firmly at Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are persistent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('theatres and cinemas has', 'Both arguments has'), awkward phrasing ('saying these are these can play'), and ungrammatical clauses ('Neither we can deny how technolgy has made... and nor we can ignore that how traditional ways ar...'). Punctuation and sentence structures also completely disintegrate towards the end of the text where the student leaves incomplete thoughts and fragmented notes. While basic meaning can usually be understood, the high frequency of structural errors and grammatical inaccuracies that impede clarity at key points corresponds to a Band 5 descriptor.
