Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals believe, theatres and cinemas are not required as they are replaced by online telecasting platforms. Where others argue that the theatres and cinema hold importance economically and culturally. This essay will discuss both views of the critics and opinion from my perspective that theatres are no longer important.
On the one hand, some people support the opinion that people do not have to invest their time and money for a movie to experience it in theatres. For instance, to watch a movie in theatre an individual must reserve a movie ticket and travel to a particular location way earlier than the movie begins. This is not comfortable for every person while some people may have a busy schedule working as a professional or a student. Furthermore, via online platforms people can enjoy a film anytime of the day they want in their most convinient place. Like, a busy person can experience a movie where the time is not particularly fixed.
On the other hand, critics argue that visiting to theatres are important to secure culture and economically grow. For example, individuals who are passionate towards film-making support this arguement because they believe that online movie experience cannot justify the theatrical experience. Moreover, It is considered that films are designed in a way that only a theatre is suggested to watch a movie since they carry alot of emotions which can only be fulfilled while experiencing it in theatres.
To conclude with, all the people may not be comfortable travelling and spending for a film. Similarly, most of the people are also ready to experience it in theatres. In my opinion, people have different choices of their own and not all of them can afford to exchange their time and money for a movie experience. A balanced approach is suggested in these type of situations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the decline of theatres due to online platforms and their ongoing economic and cultural importance. A clear position is stated in the introduction, arguing that theatres are no longer important, and this stance is maintained throughout the essay. The ideas are generally relevant, such as discussing convenience, travel time, and cultural value. However, some arguments are slightly repetitive or under-developed, particularly in the conclusion where the summary feels somewhat contradictory ('all the people may not be comfortable... Similarly, most of the people are also ready to experience it in theatres'). This places the response comfortably at Band 6.0, as it addresses all parts of the prompt with relevant ideas, though further extension and conceptual clarity would be needed for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, using standard introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs. Cohesive devices are used to signal transitions, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude with'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, the opening sentence 'Some individuals believe, theatres and cinemas are not required...' contains an awkward comma splice, and 'Where others argue...' is a sentence fragment. Logical progression is occasionally disrupted by abrupt shifts in ideas, but overall the structure remains clear enough to guide the reader through the discussion, aligning well with the Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'telecasting platforms', 'convinient' (spelled incorrectly as 'convinient'), and 'arguement'. There are several noticeable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices, such as 'visiting to theatres' instead of 'visiting theatres' or 'going to the theatre', and 'online movie experience cannot justify the theatrical experience' where 'do justice to' or 'replicate' would be more natural. Spelling errors like 'convinient' and 'arguement' occur, but they do not impede overall communication. These features are characteristic of Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation inaccuracies throughout the essay. Examples include comma splices ('Some individuals believe, theatres and cinemas...'), incorrect preposition usage ('visiting to theatres'), fragment sentences ('Where others argue that...'), and agreement or capitalization slips ('Moreover, It is considered...'). Despite these recurring errors, the meaning remains clear and they rarely impede communication. This balance of mixed structures and persistent errors corresponds precisely to the Band 6.0 descriptors.
