Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued by some people, that theatres and cinemas are no longer important because people can watch entertainment online or still important economically and culturally. In my opinion, theatres and cinemas are no longer need beacuse of the various variety of online entertainment.
On the one hand, people get unlimited entertainment with the help of internet. They can watch whatever the want online. In the early ages the theatres and cinemas were important for entertainment but now a days these source of entertainment are no longer needed because the internet took its place. In theatres people have to stuck in one place and watch the entire show and there was no option to skip it because people paid for its ticket. It is same for the cinemas that people stick to their chair to watch and full movie whether the movie is entertaining them or not because of the high amount ticket but now people can skip the movies and watch anything else to get entertained.
On the other hand, internet is cheap and ecofriendly so that people can watch whatever they want on their mobile phones and laptop and there is also not any restriction to stick to one place you can go anywhere in the world and enjoy the entertainment online. Now a days there is an advance technology of Ai who helps people to get entertained. If you want to watch any movie or drama and you can not remember that you can get help of Ai to search that specific movie or drama.
In conclusion, people get more entertainment online rather than in theatres and cinemas like old days

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The student addresses the task by discussing both views—that online entertainment has replaced theatres and cinemas, and that traditional venues still hold importance—while stating a personal opinion. However, the position is slightly confused in the introduction, where the prompt's second view is misstated as part of the initial argument. Ideas are presented, but they are limited and repetitive, particularly regarding the convenience of the internet and the lack of choice or high cost in cinemas. The arguments lack deep extension and specific examples from real knowledge or experience. Consequently, the response aligns best with a Band 5 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, though the conclusion is extremely brief and truncated. There is an attempt at logical organisation using transition markers like 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, progression is frequently hindered by repetitive ideas and awkward referencing. Furthermore, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as using 'On the other hand' to introduce a second point that merely repeats the technological advantages of the internet rather than presenting the contrasting cultural or economic view mentioned in the prompt. Paragraphing is attempted, but overall cohesion is faulty.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on everyday terms like 'entertainment', 'movies', and 'internet'. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'no longer need beacuse', 'stuck in one place', 'full movie', and 'high amount ticket'. While the student attempts some less common terms like 'ecofriendly' and 'advance technology of Ai', these are either misused in context or accompanied by grammatical errors. The range is minimally adequate for the task, but errors in word choice and spelling cause occasional strain for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('theatres and cinemas... still important', 'Ai who helps'), missing articles ('high amount ticket'), and incorrect prepositions or conjunctions ('whether the movie is entertaining them or not because of the high amount ticket'). Punctuation is also weak, particularly in run-on sentences lacking appropriate commas or conjunctions. While meaning is generally recoverable, the frequency of errors places this firmly in the Band 5 category.
