Student answer (Band 5.0)
These days, the era of theatres and cinemas are no longer crucial as they were in 1990s and early 2000s. One of the major reason is that, now we have ascess to all the movies and shows at our homes. In early times, most of the peoples don't have televisons and mobiles phones where they can watch movies and shows. But nowadays, everyone have ascess. Moreover, people now are more likely to be an introvert and don't go out to much. but in early times, people love to go out spend time with their family and friends.
Admittedly, some peoples still says that theatres and cinemas are substantial in various factors. Somehow they have some valid perspective too, like they says you got time to spend with your families and friends, you got your mind fresh and it's necessary in such a busy and stressful life. Nevertheless, watching movies and shows at home will be more beneficial is due to some of the reasons which are:
you can spend time with your family and friends even at home by watching movies and shows on the T.V screen.
It will be economically beneficial too, as you donot need to spend money on travelling to cinema and theatres.
Its time saving too, you can save your time by not travelling and having fun at home.
If you are an introvert, you just don't need to go in noisy and public envirnoment, you can watch a movie by staying home and enjoys it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both views required by the prompt—that theatres are obsolete and that they remain economically and culturally important—and presents a personal opinion favoring online entertainment. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For example, the student mentions that people are more introverted nowadays and prefer staying home, and later reiterates this point without adding substantial new depth or detailed examples. Furthermore, the counter-argument acknowledging economic and cultural benefits is dismissed rather quickly without deep exploration. Because the ideas are presented in a basic manner with minimal support, the response fits best within Band 5, where ideas are limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays basic organization, attempting an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is hindered by very fragmented paragraphing. The second main body paragraph consists of isolated bullet-like points rather than a cohesive, flowing discussion: "you can spend time with your family... It will be economically beneficial too... Its time saving too... If you are an introvert...". Cohesive devices are either missing, inadequate, or repetitive, with frequent reliance on basic linkers like 'moreover' and 'admittedly'. Paragraphing conventions are largely ignored in the second half of the essay, resulting in a disjointed structure that aligns closely with Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently employing simple terms such as 'crucial', 'movies', 'shows', and 'beneficial'. There are multiple spelling errors throughout the text, including 'ascess' instead of 'access', 'televisons' instead of 'televisions', and 'envirnoment' instead of 'environment'. The range of vocabulary is minimally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey simple messages, but word choices lack precision and flexibility. Attempted less common phrases are marred by inaccurate collocation or word form errors, such as 'don't go out to much' instead of 'too much', placing this writing firmly at Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical range is quite limited. The text relies mostly on simple sentences or flawed complex structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('theatres and cinemas are no longer crucial as they were in 1990s', 'everyone have ascess', 'some peoples still says'), incorrect pluralization ('peoples'), and capitalization issues at the start of informal fragments. Punctuation is also weak, particularly with the list-like structuring of points without proper capitalization or full stops in places. These errors frequently cause strain for the reader, placing the grammar score at Band 5.
