Student answer (Band 5.5)
Movies provide entertainment to the busy people. Some people think that in modern era of technologies , their is no need of cinemas and theatres nowadays because people can watch all the movies on their smartphones. While other believe that theatres and cinema halls have thier own value due to connection with people culture and economy. I will discuss the both views in this essay and give my personal opinion about this issue.
To commence with, nowadays people are more busy as compared to the past. They can watch everything on their mobilephpnes. They have not enough time to go to the cinema for movie. For instance , a person who do job in bank , he go for job in the morning and return back to home in the evening at that time he feel tired and refuse to go to anywhere. In addition, some people think that cinemas are not safe for them nowadays because of no security. Thats why people prefer to watch the movies online more rather than that of cinema.
On the other hand, some citizens think that theatres and cinemas have their own importance in the society. Cinemas provide people more entertainment and relaxation in their life . Second advantage is that it also become a source of outing for busy and lazy people . For example , a man who is tired of his daily busy routine when he makes a plan to watch movie in cinema then he feels more confident and energetic. A lot of people job are connected with cinemas and theatres . When we watch drama in theatre we realize that we are watching in a home beacuse it totally link with our culture .
To sum up, according to my point of view I think we should watch movies in cinema hall because it provides more entertainment and reduce our stress also. When we watch movie in cinema we become a source of income for the poor people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—the decline of cinemas due to online streaming and their ongoing economic and cultural importance—and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on why people watch movies online relies heavily on basic assertions about being busy and tired, lacking deeper exploration. Similarly, the arguments for the economic and cultural value of cinemas remain superficial, using generic examples like 'a man who is tired of his daily busy routine'. While a clear position is maintained throughout, the supporting points need more extension and specific examples to reach a higher band. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing this response at Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure introduction, body paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. The writer relies on basic cohesive markers such as 'To commence with', 'In addition', and 'On the other hand', which sometimes feel formulaic. Furthermore, referencing and logical progression within paragraphs show weaknesses, such as the abrupt transition in the second paragraph involving 'a person who do job in bank'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas, but sentence-to-sentence links occasionally break down, leading to a choppy reading experience. This aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic ideas about entertainment and technology. However, there are numerous word choice, spelling, and collocation errors that hinder precision. For example, the student writes 'their is no need', 'mobilephpnes', 'thier own value', and 'do job in bank', alongside repetitive phrasing like 'busy people' and 'watch movies'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'relaxation', 'energetic', and 'culture', inaccuracies persist throughout the text. These lexical slips occasionally draw attention but do not completely impede communication, making a Band 5.0 appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, though complex structures are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement ('a person who do job'), articles ('in cinema hall'), punctuation, and preposition usage ('connection with people culture'). For instance, the sentence 'A lot of people job are connected with cinemas' contains a plural/possessive error, and 'we realize that we are watching in a home beacuse it totally link with our culture' exhibits both spelling and structural issues. While the meaning is generally retrievable despite these errors, the high frequency of basic mistakes prevents the score from rising above Band 5.0.
