Student answer (Band 5.5)
The digital world has opened many new oppertunities for this generation but with that this change showed a great impact on my social activities. This essay presents differnt cultural perspectives of either this digital chage had a optimistic influence or not and below paragraphs presents my opinion on these statments.
No doubt that with the help of this digital networking it is easy to have access to every aspect of life with just a little gadget on our hands. This includes entertainment, social activities, study purposes and many more but every new change lefts a huge gap for the present and the future generation. For instance, social anxiety and feeling of lonliness. The recent studies showed that the current generation is facing a serious issue of social anxiety.
Theatres and cinemas have there own uniqness when it comes to entertainment and spending time with families and friends. Like if an individual was watching a movie alone he will never be able to share his joy with anyone while in theatres the feeling of joy would be share with a lot of people.
The other aspect would be cultural and economical. Cinemas are a great source of family hangouts and friends as thay are economical and people are able to spend a great time with their families.
In conclusion relying totally on digital world would lead us to completely hollow path. So in order to make our lives lively these little entertainment sources should be alive for both cultural and entertainment perpestives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on whether theatres and cinemas are still important or replaced by the digital age, and includes the writer's own opinion. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and superficial. For instance, the discussion on economic and cultural aspects in the fourth paragraph is underdeveloped ('thay are economical and people are able to spend a great time'). Furthermore, the introduction drifts slightly into personal social activities ('a great impact on my social activities') rather than strictly maintaining an academic overview of the topic. Overall, the task is addressed, but the ideas lack full extension and robust support, placing the response firmly at Band 5.5 to Band 6.0. It meets the criteria for Band 6 because all parts of the task are addressed with relevant, albeit basic, ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, though some paragraphs are very brief, such as the single-sentence fourth paragraph. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or poorly integrated, such as 'Like if an individual was watching a movie alone' or 'The other aspect would be cultural and economical.' Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between sentences lacks smooth transitions. While there is an overall arrangement that can be followed, the structural faults and mechanical cohesion restrict the score to Band 5.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate basic ideas about entertainment and technology, but it lacks sophistication. There are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'oppertunities', 'differnt', 'chage', 'statments', 'lonliness', 'uniqness', 'thay', and 'perpestives'. Word choice is also occasionally imprecise or unnatural, such as 'little gadget' instead of 'small device' or 'completely hollow path'. Because the spelling errors and limited lexical range start to impede smooth reading and obscure precision, the lexical resource fits the Band 5.0 descriptor well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some ability to construct multi-clause sentences. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors that distract the reader. Examples include tense shifts ('if an individual was watching... he will never be able'), subject-verb agreement issues ('every new change lefts'), and missing articles. Despite these errors, the core meaning can generally be deciphered, which aligns with the Band 5.0 descriptors where frequent errors persist and control over complex structures remains weak.
