Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The student attempts to discuss both views regarding the importance of theatres and cinemas versus online streaming platforms. However, the response is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence ('Recently i experienced movie...'). Furthermore, the word count requirement is not met, containing only 183 words instead of the minimum 250 words. This significantly impacts task completion, as ideas are underdeveloped and the conclusion is missing. The student touches upon economic aspects like budgets and revenue, as well as cultural and experiential elements, but these points lack full extension and proper support due to the severe length deficiency. Therefore, the task achievement is strictly constrained.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response shows a basic attempt at paragraphing, although the paragraphs are fragmented and poorly structured. Cohesive devices are used minimally and sometimes awkwardly, such as 'Somehow it is correct statement' and 'Therefore of these argue theatres'. There is a lack of smooth progression between sentences and ideas, and the abrupt end of the essay severely disrupts the overall flow and organizational structure. While the reader can generally follow the two opposing viewpoints being introduced, the mechanical use of transitions and faulty referencing prevent the text from achieving a higher band score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with several word choice and collocation errors (e.g., 'third party app's', 'in there home', 'Reason behind this is very clear like a diamond', 'Production team generator'). There are also punctuation and apostrophe errors ('app's', 'movie's', 'camera's'). While the student attempts to use some less common vocabulary such as 'economically', 'culturally', and 'revenue', the frequency of lexical inaccuracies and unnatural phrasing limits the range and strains comprehension in places.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or attempt complex forms that are flawed. There are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles, subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'few movie have', 'Production team generator most of there revenue'), and tense inconsistencies. Punctuation is also problematic throughout, and the unfinished final sentence demonstrates a complete lack of control over the ending clause. These frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader.
