IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people say that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. Others argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 4.5)

some people belive in the modern era theaters and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the series or movies online which they want

overall both cinemas and theaters have its economically and culturally important on small scale but on other hand digital media are more common

in modern era people can avail large amount of series and movies online by not going into movie theaters or cinemas they can acess any movie they are wondering to watch at any time and but if t look at cinemas of theaters people needs to go their on a specific time to watch a specific movie which cinema is showing on that time but if we use digtial media we can watch any kind of movie at anytime or anywhere at home at office or even at school we just need to grab a cup of drink some snacks and popcorns to watch our favourite movies or series we can skip any scene which we donnot like to watch but in cinema we cannot do that thing

If we look economically and culturally both have its own importance because both provides employment to people and are the source of income of many people like in theaters their are ticket counters were employs are doing there jobs

in my opinion digital media are more common and easy to use beacuse it provides large variety of series for its users and also we can watch any movie at anytime without waiting for movies to start in theaters

For example we can watch any kind of movie orseries on netflix or prime videoat our home by just paying smallamount of money i think this cgeaper methop
