Student answer (Band 5.0)

Majority of individual are of the opinion that technological advancement, theatres and cinemas are no longer beneficial as viewers can watch all the entertainment they want on scial media. Critic argue that theatres and cinemas are still valued both economically and traditionally. I strongly believe physical participation is a major intervention for economic infrasturcture development. Conversely, watching movies online is cheaper and saves a lot of time spent on purchasing movie ticket.

Physical engagement result in the rapid poliferation of economic finiance. when viewers come out in large number to watch a show, more than 50% of the income is given to the government by the organizers, that is how they pay their tax to the authority. In return the political personeel make use of the income to construct good road, leading to the organization as well as safety of the road users. In addition, families and cultural organization go their to watch movies and have fun time with their club members.

In contract, certain people are of the opinion that, with the impact of technology, people are no longer interested in physical cinemas, they rather watch it with their mobile device which is cheaper and aslo save them from the time spent in purchaseing movie ticket. Modern age has made it possible for people to watch a wide range of programme from their devices, ranging from continetal and intercontinetal show, they in most cases invite their friends over to their house, to watch movies from thier ipads. Aside that

In conclusion, technology advancement in the digital age has stopped people from going to the cinemal, however this has cost finiacial constrain in economic development. I strongly suggest viewers try as much as possible to visit the cinemal frequently, why making use of their devices for movies that can't find in the thatres.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on theatres and cinemas and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and uneven. In the introduction, the sentence structure is flawed ("Majority of individual are of the opinion that..."), which creates an awkward start. While the writer touches upon economic contributions like taxes and infrastructure development, the explanations are brief and lack strong, specific examples. The counter-argument paragraph is also somewhat repetitive, mentioning that online watching is cheaper and saves time multiple times. Furthermore, the conclusion contains a dangling sentence fragment ("Aside that") and ends abruptly. Overall, the response meets the criteria for Band 5.0 to 5.5, ultimately fitting Band 5.0 as the ideas are rather basic and under-developed, and the position, while stated, is obscured by frequent expression errors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

Paragraphing is attempted, with distinct introduction, body, and concluding sections, though the body paragraphs are somewhat disjointed. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately at times, such as starting the counter-argument with "In contract" instead of "In contrast", and introducing sentences with abrupt transitions like "Aside that". The logical progression between ideas is frequently disrupted by poor grammatical structures and abrupt shifts in focus. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for instance, when pronouns do not clearly refer back to their antecedents. While the overall arrangement shows an attempt to structure a standard essay, the mechanical and faulty cohesion places it firmly at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and basic, with frequent spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples of errors include "scial" instead of social, "poliferation" instead of proliferation, "finiance" instead of finance, "personeel" instead of personnel, and "cinemal" instead of cinema. There are also collocation and lexical inaccuracies such as "economic finiance", "fun time", and "financial constrain". While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, the high density of spelling and morphological mistakes demonstrates a lack of control over word formation and spelling conventions, restricting the score to a 4.5, which rounds down or equates to Band 5.0 based on standard descriptor alignments for noticeable errors that cause difficulty for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent and systematic errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ("Majority of individual are", "technological advancement, theatres and cinemas are"), missing articles, and incorrect prepositions ("go their" instead of go there, "spend on purchasing movie ticket"). Sentences often lack clarity due to structural fracturing, such as "when viewers come out in large number to watch a show, more than 50% of the income is given to the government by the organizers, that is how they pay their tax to the authority." These persistent errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a Band 6.0.
