Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 4.5)
From my perspective, theatres and cinemas are useless because nowdays everything can be done by online furthermore individuals do not have enough time to watch movies or anything else in theatres. They have a hectic life. They remains busy in their work all day. So it seems to be very difficult for them to go to the cinemas.
The crucial reason for that is people can watch online everything they want. They do not have to go to cinemas and waste their time. Within only one click they can watch everything they want. Today life is becoming more easier with the help of online. People also do not want to stand in lines for ticket and wait for their turn.
The other reason is that nobody want to spend money on a thing which is free of cost. The treatres and cinemas ticket are the major reason of their downfall. On the other hand, it is the responsibility of government to encourage the society for watching movies in cinemas so that economically and culturally the country rises.
In conclusion, I would argue that if you make things easy and beneficial for the individual. individual directly interact with it. People should go to cinemas and theatres so that they can spend time with their families and get releif from thier hectic life morever they got knowledge about theatres and cinemas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response addresses the task only minimally, presenting a position that is not always clearly sustained throughout. While the writer touches upon both views regarding the relevance of theatres and cinemas in the digital age, the ideas are heavily limited and under-developed, lacking sufficient supporting details or relevant examples. Furthermore, the response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement, falling short by 21 words. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully extend their ideas with clear explanations and real-world examples, ensure all parts of the prompt are explored in depth, and write at least 250 words.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The text demonstrates some basic organisation with the use of paragraphing, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas from one paragraph to the next. Cohesive devices are often inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'The other reason is that' and 'morever'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal logical links between sentences are weak, causing the flow of ideas to feel disjointed. For instance, the transition from discussing online entertainment to the government's responsibility in the third paragraph lacks logical scaffolding. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive ties more accurately and ensure each paragraph has a clear thematic center that leads naturally into the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and somewhat repetitive, featuring frequent basic terms such as 'everything', 'movies', and 'money'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'nowdays', 'treatres', 'releif', and 'thier', which occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. The writer attempts some less common phrases like 'hectic life' and 'free of cost', but control over word formation and collocation remains inconsistent. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire to include more precise, less common academic vocabulary, while eliminating basic spelling mistakes and ensuring correct word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer employs a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex structures that turn out faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('They remains busy'), article omissions ('in lines for ticket', 'to cinemas'), and awkward prepositional phrases ('interact with it'). Punctuation and sentence boundary errors are also present, such as sentence fragments ('So it seems to be very difficult...'). These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer needs to practice forming accurate complex sentences, pay closer attention to verb tenses, agreements, and plurals, and reduce basic grammatical slips.
