Student answer (Band 5.0)

overall, theater and cinemas had more importance in previous time then now. People are gathering and had plane to go to theater to watch comedy shows and in cinema to watch movies and spend time there. They have to pay for that. That's good for economy and culture. But now people are gathering in their homes and watch, movies and other comedy shows at their homes online, they do not have to pay for that.

Firstly, Main advantage of watching Cinema and theater is People meat with the other people and makes friends there. people also do outing and also watch the shows and movies and have fun with them. another advantage is to economy, when people go, they went to restaurant's it promotes local food and their culture, it is best activity for the people they saw clothes and other things of that culture it's helpful for victors, they easily understand about their way of living and their norms also their activity.

Secondly, their also some disadvantages of that it's little bit expensive, so before people go for outing, they need to check their pocket before any type of planning.

Advantage of watching Movies and shows online at home it's not expensive, most of the films and dramas are freely available so everyone can afford that.

On other hand it's effect the economy and culture both if people are use to stay home local restaurant are not generate enough revenue that has bad effect on economy and people do not adopt their culture. this also make people bore.

according to my opinion, i prefer to watch theater and movies because I came to know about the culture and promote local cosines it also help full to our economy and cultural values, we have a lot of friends and we meet new people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views—the decline of physical cinemas due to online streaming and their ongoing economic and cultural importance—while also providing a personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the points regarding economic and cultural impacts are stated simply rather than fully extended with specific examples. The writer's position is discernible by the end of the essay, but the ideas lack the depth and thorough support needed for a higher level, keeping the response firmly within the partial achievement category.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation present, with attempts to divide the text into paragraphs and use transitional markers such as 'Firstly' and 'Secondly'. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the essay, and the logical flow is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts in topic. Cohesive devices are often used inaccurately or repetitively, such as 'On other hand' and 'according to my opinion, i prefer'. Paragraphing is also somewhat erratic, with single-sentence paragraphs appearing frequently, which weakens the overall structural cohesion of the essay.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. The writer attempts some less common items such as 'economic and cultural', 'revenue', and 'norms', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation, such as 'people meat with the other people', 'do outing', 'local cosines', and 'make people bore'. Furthermore, spelling errors like 'victors' instead of 'visitors' occur. These lexical inaccuracies and limitations may occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic coordination. When attempts are made at more complex structures, they are frequently faulty, leading to frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include tense inconsistencies ('theater and cinemas had more importance in previous time then now'), missing or incorrect articles ('advantage to economy', 'is little bit expensive'), and run-on sentences lacking appropriate punctuation. These frequent grammatical errors can cause difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted structural control.
