Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the required minimum length of 250 words, stopping at 204 words, which significantly restricts the development of ideas. The student responds to the task only minimally. While both views regarding the importance of theatres and cinemas in the digital age are acknowledged, the discussion remains superficial and lacks adequate elaboration and relevant examples. The personal opinion is stated simply in the introduction and conclusion without sustained support or clear extension, keeping the content at a basic level of task completion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The information and ideas are not arranged in a truly coherent progression throughout the essay. While basic cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'In addition', 'But', and 'That's why', they are often repetitive and mechanically used. Paragraphing is present, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs is disjointed, jumping abruptly between general viewing habits, ordering snacks, and broad economic claims, making the overall structure difficult to follow smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, utilizing everyday words such as 'entertainment', 'movies', 'drama', and 'family' without much variation. There are noticeable lexical errors, incorrect word forms, and spelling mistakes, such as 'atre', 'citizen' instead of 'citizens', 'shacks' instead of 'snacks', and 'counrty'. These errors and the restricted range of vocabulary place a strain on the reader and reflect a limited resource for expressing ideas precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, relying heavily on simple sentence patterns alongside faulty attempts at complex structures. There are frequent grammatical errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'most individuals has opinion' and 'citizen can see', incorrect verb tenses, and issues with plurals and articles, including 'in economically and culturally' and 'd'not have enough time to seen'. These frequent errors create difficulty for the reader and mean that error-free sentences are rare.
