Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the prompt minimally, touching upon both views regarding the role of theatres and cinemas versus online entertainment, and presents a personal opinion in favour of online platforms. However, the ideas remain very limited and under-developed. For instance, the writer states that online watching is a 'good way' and lists simple advantages such as watching 'lonely' and avoiding ticket costs, but these points are not extended with deeper reasoning or concrete examples. Furthermore, the stance in the introduction and body paragraphs is somewhat repetitive rather than progressively elaborated, placing the performance at a minimal level of task fulfilment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The information and ideas are not arranged with a clear overall progression. While the writer attempts to structure the essay into distinct paragraphs representing different views and personal thoughts, the transitions between sentences and ideas are frequently abrupt or repetitive, such as starting multiple paragraphs with 'Many advantages' or 'Many people has different point of view.' Paragraphing is used mechanically, and referencing is often unclear, which disrupts the logical flow and makes it difficult for the reader to follow a cohesive argument from start to finish.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used throughout the essay is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple terms like 'online,' 'entertainment,' 'important,' and 'videos.' There are noticeable lexical and spelling errors that strain the reader, including incorrect word forms and awkward collocations such as 'facilityus' instead of facilities, 'drames,' 'impoetant,' and 'atching.' The range of vocabulary is limited to everyday, elementary words, and attempts to use less common or academic terminology are unsuccessful due to frequent inaccuracies in word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The grammatical structures are extremely limited, consisting mainly of simple sentences and faulty attempts at more complex constructions. Errors are frequent and often distort meaning, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Some people thinks', 'young generation are not agreed'), incorrect article usage, and missing prepositions. For example, phrases like 'online facilityus are not provided' and 'prices for the tickets are high, second seats are enough not available' demonstrate a lack of control over basic sentence patterns, meaning structures are frequently inaccurate and prone to causing difficulty for the reader.
