Student answer (Band 5.5)
Few individuals say that in nowadays, theatres and cinema halls are no largerly sigificant as people can watch all the entertainment they want on internet. I totally agree with that theatres and cinemas are still important both financially and culturally but others have opposite opinion about that.
Many persons strongly believe that theatres and cinemas are play an important role in current days because most people like to watch movies on big screen and that is more satisfying than watching a film at home. For example, a huge community goes to theatres on sundays with their families. They says that it is still important because it provides profit to industrial community who manages these cinema halls and also it has a great impact on culture point of view because it became a trend in our society to go and watch movie together in big halls. For example, many schools organized a small get togehter and they go theatres to watch a film and this can strong their bond with each other.
Others think that going to watch a webseries in cenimas are not important because every thing is available on websites and anyone can see anything according to their taste for entertainment purpose. For instance, many drama industrial organization is uploading their episodes on youtube so people can enjoy it.
In conclusion, I totally agree with that going to theatres is more benificial for entertainment because we can watch it on big screens with our beloved ones, this also gives benifites to lollywood industry financially and it can strong our relationships with others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether cinemas are still important and providing a clear, albeit repetitive, position. The main ideas are relevant, such as the social aspect of viewing on a big screen and the economic benefits to the industry, fulfilling the requirements for this level. However, some parts of the response are under-developed or lack sufficient extension. For example, the mention of schools organizing get-togethers in theatres is introduced as an example but is not fully elaborated to show its broader cultural impact. Furthermore, the reasoning tends to be somewhat generalized, as seen in the statement that a huge community goes to theatres on Sundays. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to extend and support all main ideas with more fully developed explanations and concrete examples rather than relying on brief assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction and reiterated in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate different viewpoints, which helps the reader follow the progression of arguments. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always clear. For instance, transitional phrases like 'For example' and 'In conclusion' are utilized, but within paragraphs, sentences often feel disjointed rather than smoothly linked. The pronoun referencing in sentences such as 'They says that it is still important' creates ambiguity regarding whether 'they' refers to families or the community. Additionally, the lack of sophisticated cohesive devices prevents the writing from achieving a more fluid and natural progression throughout the response.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing enough range to discuss the topic of cinemas versus online entertainment. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'financially and culturally', 'industrial community', and 'entertainment purpose', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling. Examples of lexical inaccuracies include 'no largerly sigificant', 'drama industrial organization', 'benificial', and 'benifites'. These errors and spelling mistakes reflect limitations in lexical control, though they generally do not prevent the core message from being understood. To achieve a higher level, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, improve precision in word choice and collocation, and eliminate frequent spelling errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic patterns with occasional attempts at complex sentences. These attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty, leading to grammatical errors in agreement, verb forms, and clause structures. Notable examples include 'Few individuals say that in nowadays', 'theatres and cinemas are play an important role', 'They says', 'schools organized a small get togehter and they go theatres', and 'it can strong our relationships'. There are also frequent errors in prepositions and plurals, such as 'on internet' and 'in cenimas'. While these errors are noticeable and can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the mix of simple structures still allows the general meaning to be conveyed. A greater variety of accurate complex structures and better control over basic grammar rules are needed to improve this criterion.
