Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the new virtual era fewer people belives that traditional cinemas and theatres are not that crutial as people use internet for their enjoyment. On the other hand some of them says that they are still significant. In my opinion digital entertaitment is more convienient in many aspects.

First of all, today is the day of computer everyother person now a days use internet and technology for multiple purposes one of which is amusement which is more easy to work on insteatd of going out. Moreover, people with busy and hectic schedules like cannot afford to go out for an extended period of time just for the sake of enjoyment, they have alot more going on their shoes but at the same time thay wanted to enage entertaitment industury, so they mainly prefer staying at home and doing whatever task they wanted to do. For example housewifes can perform multiple tasks while watching their favourite movies or dramas without even worring about specially taking out time to go to traditional theathres. Digital media also offer wide range of diversion which cinemas and theatres cannot like you can watch shows, programs, web series and alot more stuff whereas theatres and cinema halls are limited to only movies. It also provide flexible timing like we can watch our fovourite thing or genre at whatever time but for theathres we needed to book tickets in adanvce.

In contrast, for other individuals going out was the demanding option, they prefer making plan with group of friends or family to watch movies on bigger screens which is not possible on mobiles on laptops. Moreover, it was also a part of of our culture where the industury begains so some people didnot want to compromise on their heritage and traditions. Furthermore, cinema halls and theatres play a vital role in managing funds to support finalcial burden on a significant scale.

Concluding that, there are different perspectives and demands of individuals depending on their needs. But i surely choose stay home and using advance tools for entertaitment in this era

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that cinemas are no longer important due to online entertainment, and that they remain economically and culturally significant—while also presenting a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the arguments regarding economic and cultural importance are touched upon briefly near the end of the third body paragraph without sufficient elaboration or concrete examples. Similarly, while the view favouring digital entertainment is supported by relatable points such as convenience and variety, some ideas are repetitive or under-developed. To reach a higher level, every main point needs to be fully extended with deeper reasoning and more robust supporting details.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays an overall coherent arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body paragraphs addressing different perspectives, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate the opposing views logically. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally disrupted by mechanical or faulty cohesive devices. For example, transitional phrases like 'First of all' and 'In contrast' are used, but referencing and linking within paragraphs can be confusing, such as the abrupt shifts in the second paragraph with strings of clauses connected by commas rather than appropriate conjunctions or full stops. Improving the logical flow between sentences and ensuring smoother transitions will help elevate the overall organisation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary to communicate the main arguments about digital and traditional entertainment, attempting some less common words and phrases like 'hectic schedules' and 'financial burden'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('belives', 'crutial', 'entertaitment', 'convienient', 'insteatd', 'housewifes', 'worring', 'theathres', 'adanvce', 'didnot', 'finalcial') and instances of awkward word choice and collocation ('demanding option', 'making plan'). While communication is generally maintained despite these slips, the frequency of lexical and orthographic inaccuracies prevents the response from achieving a higher rating. Expanding your control over word forms and careful proofreading for spelling are key areas for improvement.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, incorporating relative clauses and conditional ideas. However, there is a limited control over grammatical accuracy, with frequent errors in punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and sentence boundaries—such as run-on sentences joined predominantly by commas. Examples of errors include 'everyother person now a days use' and 'they have alot more going on their shoes but at the same time thay wanted to enage entertaitment industury'. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they persist throughout the text and restrict the writing to a lower category. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammatical patterns and avoiding comma splices will significantly strengthen your structural control.
