Student answer (Band 6.0)
A plethora of people argue that in this contemporary era, cinemas and theatres are unimportant among the people because they get all sorts of entertainment online, whereas others contend that theatres and cinemas are crucially important because of their cultural and economical values. So in the ensuring paragraphs, i have shed light upon both the schools and given my opinion at the end.
On the one hand, it is unimportant among people nowadays because they can watch any kind of shows and movies anywhere and everywhere they want. Individuals can enjoy all sorts of entertainment such as movies, soap-operas and series according to their convenience and without worrying about booking and choosing seats in advance. On their digital apparatus, one can watch movies and shows without timing issues and without any delay or on one click. This convenience made the cinemas and theaters unimportant among nowadays lethargic people.
On the other hand, people love to go in theaters and cinema due to background sounds, visuals and vulnerability of different types of seats and some local theaters showcase some past cultural and tradition drams through stuffs like puppet which is not available anywhere on internet. Some people have enormous and magnificent respect for their culture and traditional mythological stories and the only means from which that is available is local dramas that are arranged by local people through theaters. Cinemas and theaters also thrive the economy of a nation. More the individuals attracted towards cinemas more the economy because the means of entertainment available that sparks a light of experience of visual is the cinemas.
To conclude, after juxtaposing importance of the theaters and cinemas, I believe that theaters are the most vulnerable aspects for nation as it boosts the economy of a country and offer a wide range of experience but it is not as convenient as a digital apparatus could be; the most important fact that digital apparatus couldn't give a wider knowledge about mythological culture and traditions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on the importance of theatres and cinemas versus digital entertainment and providing a personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, the economic and cultural aspects mentioned in the second body paragraph are introduced with relevant notions such as local traditions, puppets, and boosting the economy, but these supporting points remain somewhat under-developed and lack specific real-world examples. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of extension varies between paragraphs, which keeps the task response at this level. To reach a higher standard, the writer needs to fully extend all main ideas with well-elaborated examples rather than relying on brief general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a concluding summary. Information and ideas are logically sequenced, and paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different arguments. Cohesive devices are employed to guide the reader through the text, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes a bit mechanical or slightly faulty, as seen in phrases like 'after juxtaposing importance of the theaters', where the transition feels abrupt. Additionally, pronoun referencing occasionally lacks precision, such as 'the only means from which that is available'. To achieve a higher band, the writer must ensure that cohesive devices and referencing flow more naturally and unobtrusively throughout the entire essay.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'contemporary era', 'mythological stories', and 'juxtaposing'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form throughout the text. Examples of awkward lexical choices include 'vulnerability of different types of seats' (likely meaning variety), 'stuffed like puppet' (instead of items like puppets), and 'thrife the economy' (instead of thrive). There are also some minor slips in collocation, such as 'shed light upon both the schools'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they prevent the vocabulary from reaching a more precise and flexible level. To improve, the writer should focus on accurate word choice and natural collocations rather than stretching for advanced terminology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, attempting various clauses and subordinate constructions. There are some grammatical errors and punctuation slips present, such as 'unimportant among the people' (preposition error), 'on one click' (instead of with one click), and a few missing articles like 'on internet'. In the introduction, informal phrasing like 'i have shed light' features a lowercase pronoun, and sentence boundaries are occasionally strained. Nevertheless, these errors are relatively infrequent and rarely impede communication, allowing the reader to follow the arguments without difficulty. To move up to a higher level, the writer should aim for a greater proportion of error-free complex sentences and refine their control over prepositions and article usage.
