Student answer (Band 5.0)

There are controversial arguments that digital media will reduce the importance of cinemas and theatres soon because people have convient accesibilty to intertainment online. While others belives that cinema and theaters have their traditional values so, degital media will be unable to lose their values. In my point of view, both have their own values but it is seen that lateast technology always put impact on recient technology.

Firstly, degital media is getting values day by day and most of the people are going to use it. Futher more, now people can get any information by digital media in seconds. Because of it, world become agloble village and everyone is accesible to any type of news, films, and videos. But it has several disadvantages such as the new generation is using mobile phone, watching television and other apps like face book and tiktok. Which makes them lazy to do any physical activity due towhich thier mental groth is stunned.

Secondly, the cinemas and theatres have their own importance and most of the old generation is useing these for intertainment. Because it give a chance to meet with their friends and realitives, it means that this is a way of social gathering. As a result, surely degital media effects it worsely but it will not ruine.

In my opinion, both are entertainment sites but like when cinemas were eastablished that was the age of radio and now we find no radio. Such that a time will come when cinemas will end up from the world.

In conclusion, cinemas and theartres have their own importance and degital media its own. But such that recient eara degital medial is reducing cinemas and theatres importance and one day will take their place.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views regarding cinemas versus digital media and offers a personal opinion, which places the attempt at this level. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on digital media introduces irrelevant drawbacks such as laziness and stunned mental growth, shifting away from the economic and cultural aspects mentioned in the prompt. Additionally, the position throughout the essay is not always clearly articulated or sustained, as the final paragraph appears somewhat contradictory regarding the future of cinemas. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed with fully developed, relevant supporting ideas rather than shifting into unrelated social critiques.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some basic organization, utilizing paragraph breaks to separate the introduction, body points, and conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by mechanical or repetitive cohesive devices. Transition markers like 'Firstly,' 'Futher more,' and 'Secondly' are used to structure the text, but referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns such as 'Which makes them lazy' starting a new sentence fragment in the second paragraph. To improve cohesion, the writer should ensure that cohesive devices connect ideas smoothly and that paragraph transitions guide the reader logically from one argument to the next without abrupt shifts.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, featuring frequent spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are numerous non-standard spellings and word forms throughout the text, such as 'convient', 'accesibilty', 'intertainment', 'degital', 'recient', 'Futher more', 'agloble', 'eastablished', 'theartres', and 'eara'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, but these attempts are marred by inaccurate spelling and inappropriate collocation. To achieve a higher score, the student must expand their control over common and less-common lexical items, paying close attention to accurate spelling, correct word formation, and precise contextual usage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are recurrent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, articles, and singular-plural agreement, such as 'most of the people are going to use it', 'world become agloble village', 'old generation is useing', and 'degital media effects it worsely'. Punctuation is also problematic, including sentence fragments like 'Which makes them lazy to do any physical activity'. These frequent grammatical errors cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the structural variety of the essay. Developing better control over complex sentence patterns and reducing basic structural errors will help improve this area.
