Student answer (Band 4.5)

In this paragraph, I relate some merits and demerits of theatres and cinemas imprtance in digiral age. In past peoples having only on source of entertainment thats was only cinemas and theaters. The past people having no internet and digital devices to watch movies and entertainment stuff. But now a days every one have cell phone, internet and they access every time of entetainment stuff just on one click.

Firstly, I describe some drawbacks of it people spend most of time on screen like mobile even students spends whole night to watching movies ending seasons or episodes fast. It cause bad effect on eyes as well as health, in health in terms of they junck food and sitting whole time no physically activity happens. This is the big disadvantage of health. Also research notice this one is the big issue on young generation.

Secondly, I describe some benefits of theatres and cinemas like its a gathering of people like friends go together to watch movie and mind become fresh. They spends most time with friends and enjoy together. Peoples or frieds meet each other, some time a family go together to watch movie in cinema its also a outing for whole family and mind become fresh after this short cinema trip. In past timepeople go to watch theater its a kind of drams that perfom live on stage different kind of character plays their role it includes childres, young and elder people. From my prospective theater and cinema have less costly rather than buy or purchase films online. The last noticeable feature is we are lossing our culture like its our very old culture in some city i see the theater are almost ended their buildings are being deserted.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the prompt minimally, attempting to discuss both the views on theatres and cinemas in the digital age and offering a personal opinion. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed throughout. For instance, the mention of health drawbacks like eating junk food and sitting for long periods is stated simply without any extension or clear integration into the broader debate. Similarly, the points about cultural loss and cost-effectiveness are introduced briefly in the final paragraph without being fully explored. While the writer attempts to present both sides and a personal stance, the lack of thorough explanation and support keeps the task response limited.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The organization of information lacks clear overall progression. Although the text is divided into paragraphs, the internal sequencing of ideas is disjointed, and transitions between sentences are often repetitive or mechanical, relying heavily on formulas like 'Firstly, I describe' and 'Secondly, I describe'. Furthermore, referencing is not always clear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical development of the argument. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas within the paragraphs lacks cohesion, resulting in a somewhat confused flow of thoughts.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and basic, reflecting an inadequate range for more precise expression. There are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that impede communication, such as 'imprtance', 'digiral', 'peoples', 'entertainment', 'junck', 'frieds', 'drams', 'perfom', 'childres', and 'lossing'. The student attempts some common phrases, but frequent inaccuracies in word form and spelling mean the lexical resource remains at a basic level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structures used are very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences alongside faulty attempts at complex ones. Frequent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and articles are present throughout the text, such as 'peoples having only on source', 'thats was only', 'every one have', 'students spends', 'it cause bad effect', and 'theater have less costly'. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and distort meaning in several places.
