Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is widely believed that in the virtualzed electronic era , theater and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want on internet.
However, I firmly disagree with this view point , while some argue that theater and multiplexes are still important both economically and culturally.I am of the opininon that agree with argument where theater and cinema are still important.
one compelling reason for this stance is 3d sci-fi movie's where still people visting cinemas and imax for next level experience , which is not available on any virtual device but still supporters of opposite argument belive there are benefits of also digital era which give us easily access to latest movies and theater plays which we not able to attended due to hectic schedule so this also gives us portability to access any content freely in Bluray and 4k but still in my opinion it doesn't give us same dollby surronding experience and immersive large screen experiences which we felt at cinemas.where people waiting for movies like avengers doomsdays and fan entusiam will not accept such kind of movies to watch it on small screen.
In conclusion , I strongly disagree with the idea that digital age , theater and cinemas are no longer instead of this so called ott platforms charge everymonth subscription to watch the movies with small screen and we are paying them equivalent amount so that doen't make any sense .
overall the evidence clearly supports my position that entertainment era is not limited still its much important for many peoples who want the real experience like 3d movies ,dollby atmos and large immersive screens

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt partially, attempting to discuss both views regarding the relevance of theatres and cinemas versus online entertainment, while offering a personal opinion. However, the position is not always clearly stated or maintained, as seen in the confusing phrasing in the introduction where the writer states they disagree with the view that cinemas are unimportant, yet simultaneously uses contradictory language. Ideas are limited and under-developed, relying on repetitive points about 3D movies, Dolby sound, and screen size without extending them with specific, well-reasoned examples. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to present a fully clarified stance in the introduction and develop each main body paragraph with distinct, extended arguments and concrete supporting examples rather than looping back to the same audio-visual points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some organisation in the essay, but it lacks a clear overall progression. The response suffers from poor paragraphing, notably condensing almost the entire body of the argument into one extremely long, run-on sentence and paragraph. Cohesive devices are inadequate, inaccurate, or overused, with frequent reliance on basic linking words like 'still' and 'however' used repetitively and incorrectly. Referencing is often unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical flow between sentences. To improve, the writer must divide the essay into distinct, logical paragraphs—separate paragraphs for each viewpoint and the personal opinion—and use a wider range of accurate cohesive devices to guide the reader smoothly through the arguments.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey a basic meaning. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'immersive', 'entusiasm', and 'subscription', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as 'virtualzed electronic era', 'view point', 'opininon', and 'dollby surronding'. Spelling errors are also present, including 'entusiam', 'doomsdays', 'doen't', and 'surronding'. These lexical shortcomings and inaccuracies cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer should focus on expanding their vocabulary range, ensuring correct word forms, and checking spelling conventions for common descriptive and academic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of structures. While there are a few attempts at complex sentences, these attempts are frequently faulty, leading to massive run-on sentences that lack proper punctuation. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement, missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and faulty verb tenses, such as 'theater and cinemas are no longer', 'where still people visting', and 'which we not able to attended'. These errors require effort to decode and cause difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer needs to master basic sentence boundary punctuation, avoid overly long run-on sentences, and exercise greater control over tense consistency and agreement.
