Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many people belive that. there is no furtger need of theatres and cinemas nowadays, while other argue that it still need for ecnomically and traditionaly. For this, i belive that it must have because it give time to take away from studies or work and spend some time with there loved once.

Nowaday, people move their trend of watching movies from threaters and cienmas to digital device like phone, mobile and computer. They belive that it would be cost efficient and take less time. For example, if sombody watch the movie on laptop, they will take more time for other thing, also entertainment at home obviously get less money as compare to the entertainment at theatres and cinemas.

On the hand some people say that we should take some time for outdoor entertainment, it will be benefical for our health and relationship with others both. They also believe that, it makes beautifull memories which well be god for our future. For example, if a whole family spend atlest some time in a month and gossip together and eat together, it make the sence of humanity and stronge the bont between their.

Well, in my point of view we should spend atleast some time for our leiasure and goods, also it gives us a chence to far away with our work life and sped some time with our family or other relation.

Overall, i would like to say that it is no doubt the entertainment trend change, but if some activity give you pleasure, good memories and good retalion, So we should not completly forgget this activity, even if it wastes some of our time or money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that digital alternatives reduce the need for physical venues and that traditional cinemas and theatres remain culturally and economically important—while also presenting a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For instance, the discussion on digital streaming simply notes that it is 'cost efficient and take less time', while the defence of physical attendance relies heavily on basic family bonding examples, such as 'gossip together and eat together'. Because the ideas remain relatively undeveloped and lack extended supporting evidence, the response only partially satisfies the requirements, reflecting a performance characteristic of this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some overall organisation with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear progression throughout the text. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently mechanical or faulty. The writer relies on basic cohesive devices like 'For example' and 'On the hand', which is inaccurate, and referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use in 'For this, i belive that it must have'. Repetition of ideas across paragraphs further disrupts the flow of the argument, resulting in an essay that shows basic organisational awareness without achieving a smooth, logical progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, restricting the range significantly. The student relies heavily on simple words and phrases, and attempts to use less common vocabulary result in noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling. Examples include 'belive' for believe, 'furtger' for further, 'ecnomically' and 'traditionaly' for economically and traditionally, 'threaters' and 'cienmas', 'leiasure', and 'retalion' for relation. These persistent inaccuracies and limited lexical repertoire mean the vocabulary is only minimally adequate for the task, causing occasional strain for the reader and reflecting a restricted control of word choice and spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is limited, featuring predominantly simple sentences alongside attempts at complex structures that are frequently faulty. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles. Examples include 'people belive that. there is no furtger need', 'it still need for', 'if sombody watch the movie... they will take', and 'stronge the bont between their'. Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent, as seen in the lowercase 'i' and misplaced full stops. These frequent errors in basic and attempted complex structures require some effort from the reader to decode meaning, placing the grammatical control firmly within this band.
