Student answer (Band 5.0)

some say that in digital era, movie theatres and cinemas are not important as people prefer to watch it online, while other say these are important for both culturally and economically. I belive, watching online is more convienant and affortable rather than going for cinemas and theatres.

There are people who enjoys going out with friends and family especially on weekend for watching movies to near by theatre. There are some movies which only get release in imax format, and it can only be experience in movie threate infront of big screen and with dobly atmos sound effects which is bit costiler than normal movie tickets. People have to reach threathe ontime otherwise, they might miss important scene and which leads to dissapointment. For example, a person who has already booked tickets and plan to watch it after office hour, but for some reason cannot able to go, then he or she cannot cancel the tickets. However, I think, in this digital era, watching movies online is way better than going to cinema theatres

Individual have freedom when to watch what, They won't be missing anything, as they can start anytime they want and whenever. This won't be get in cinema theatres. one can watch it on tv or their smartphones. It is that convienant. It is also cheap, it's one time subscription, one can watch unlimited movies or entertainment. For example, A person who is working, can easily able to afford the streaming platform such as netflix, and can enjoy the show while traveling to office and can continue it on someother day. And I belive, this is the best way to enjoy movies or series

In conclusion, some prefer to goes out and watch movies on threather while other perfers to watch in online. I think streaming platform is much affortable and convient.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt partially by discussing both views—the importance of cinemas economically and culturally versus the convenience of online streaming—and presenting a clear personal opinion. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the economic and cultural aspects mentioned in the prompt are largely glossed over, and the arguments regarding online viewing are repetitive, focusing mainly on convenience and cost without extending the points into deeper analysis. While the position is visible, the support provided relies heavily on generalized personal examples rather than fully elaborated arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organization present, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but the essay lacks a clear overall progression. The movement between ideas feels disjointed, and cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'There are people who...' and 'However, I think...'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs is weak. Referencing is sometimes unclear, which disrupts the smooth progression of ideas for the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'convienant', 'affortable', 'threathe', 'ontime', and 'perfers'. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, but inaccurate word forms and spelling slips prevent the writing from achieving a higher level of lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside poorly controlled complex attempts. Frequent errors are present in verb tenses, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, such as 'movie theatres and cinemas are not important as people prefer to watch it online' and 'Individual have freedom when to watch what, They won't be missing anything'. These frequent errors require the reader to slow down and can cause occasional difficulty in comprehension.
