Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this high-tech era, everyone use cutting- edge technology for work, chat and entertainment. Some people believe that the in this contemporary world they do not need to go to cinema and theatres because every thing is available online. However, others say that the theatres and cinema have their own crucial role in economic and culture. In this essay, I will discuss both views and give my own opinion in forthcoming paragraphs.
I entirely believe that the theatres and cinemas are indespensible. Moreover, it is source of rejuvenation. As well as, we go their to spend time with our loved ones. Mostly, people have busy schudule but on weekend to break the monotony of their life they go to cinemas to enteratin ourselves as well as their partners.
For enhancing my views on this topic, it has a lot of advantages. First and foremost, It is source of income for many individuals like producers, directors, actors and many more. Despite, it gives information of the local culture. A survey conducted by a prestigious newspaper of Britain shows that the people enjoy movies in cinema more than online.
On the flip side, some people believe that the their no need of cinemas and theatres as entertainment can be seen on the mobile phone, laptop, computer and many more. Despite this, people have flexible time to watch movies. They do not need to wait for weekend to go to cinema. Also, they watch their favourite movie more then one time. Sometimes they get free access to see their favourite show, they do not need to pay money for this in online.
Different people have different notins regarding the statement but I have sound reasons to advocate that although the digital world is gaining ground yet cinemas have theur own importnce.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that cinemas are no longer important due to online options, and that they remain economically and culturally vital—while also providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is uneven. For instance, the paragraph supporting the continued relevance of cinemas mentions that it is a source of income and local culture, but these points are stated rather than fully extended or supported with specific examples. Similarly, the counterargument about digital accessibility touches upon mobile phones and flexible timings, but these ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed, preventing the response from reaching a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and the writing is divided into logical paragraphs. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. Transition phrases and connectors such as 'As well as', 'Despite', and 'For enhancing my views on this topic' are used awkwardly or inaccurately, which disrupts the natural flow of ideas. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use referring back to preceding concepts, meaning the progression of ideas is not always smooth or transparent throughout.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task and attempts less common lexical items such as 'rejuvenation', 'monotony', and 'notions'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation that prevent a higher score. For example, 'indespensible' is misspelled, 'schudule' contains an error, and phrases like 'a source of rejuvenation' or 'give information of the local culture' show unnatural collocations. Despite these limitations in style and precision, the vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas without severely impeding the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some attempt at variety. However, there are frequent grammatical errors in basic structures, verb forms, articles, and agreement. Examples include subject-verb mismatch ('everyone use'), missing articles ('in cinema more than online'), awkward prepositions ('go their'), and faulty tense or plural usage ('their no need', 'theur own importnce', 'more then one time'). While these errors do not completely obscure the message, they occur regularly enough to restrict the grammar score to this level.
