Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued by some people that the modern age cinema and entertainment has shifted to the online platfrom, despite such shift others believe that there is still a need for cinemas and theatres for cultural and economic reasons. Although, most people find online services a convenient form of consuming entertainment, I believe that theatres and cinemas are crucial in the industry for keeping this from of art alive.
There are several benefits to digital forms of media. Firstly, it is cheaper because it saves the cost of travelling to the cinemas. Furthermore, it gives the freedom of choosing the kind of shows someone wants to watch and the time of viewing based on the schedule. So, it reduces the stress of buying tickets. For instance, famous movies tend to have long waiitng lists, so it can be quite stressful to book seats for large groups.
On the other hand, traditional forms of media is still sought out by many peope because it allows the to appreciate the craft. The enthusiasm of the viewers at any premiere, encourages the artists and gives them a stage to showcase their talent. In addition, cinemas and theatres is a major source of income for high budget movies or plays. So it is essential to determine the success of a release.
In conclusion, cinemas and theatres are still relevant in the modern age as it allows people to have a better experience and keeps the industry alive, but it cannot totally replace the online content as it is an easier option for working class of people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the online shift and the economic and cultural importance of physical cinemas and theatres, while also presenting a clear personal opinion. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, your exploration of the digital benefits is well-supported with points about cost and scheduling convenience, but the economic and cultural arguments in the third paragraph remain somewhat broad and under-developed, such as the brief mention of high-budget movies without specific elaboration. To reach a higher level, you should extend and fully support every main idea with deeper explanations or more robust examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from the introduction, through body paragraphs covering both views, to the conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct themes. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. You rely on standard transition markers like 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand', and some referencing lacks clarity, such as 'traditional forms of media is still sought out by many peope because it allows the to appreciate the craft', where pronoun reference is slightly imprecise. To improve further, ensure smoother integration of cohesive devices without relying on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'premiere', 'cultural', and 'economic'. There are, nevertheless, several spelling, word choice, and word form errors throughout the text, including 'platfrom', 'waiitng', 'peope', and 'allows the to appreciate'. Additionally, phrasing like 'working class of people' could be more idiomatic. These errors do not impede communication, but to achieve a higher score, you need to use a wider range of less common vocabulary with greater precision and eliminate spelling slips.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
Your essay exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating that you can handle multi-clause structures such as concession clauses starting with 'Although'. There are some grammatical and punctuation errors present, such as subject-verb agreement issues in 'cinemas and theatres is a major source' and minor punctuation slips like missing commas before introductory clauses. Fortunately, these errors rarely impede communication and do not obscure your meaning. To move up to the next band, you should aim for a higher proportion of error-free sentences while maintaining a wide variety of complex structures.
