Student answer (Band 6.0)
Entertainment is an integral part of everyone's life in modern age. In my opinion, Both the arguments of utilizing online platforms or cinema's and theaters are equally important sources for entertainment.
To begin with, online platform are essential due to accelerated work life in urban cities. The time convenience and low cost are the two major advantages for using online platrforms. Online platfroms such Netflix, Youtube, Facebook has become an essential part of entertainment in this digital age. For example, citizens of urban cities are also self time managers, they have a fixed routine to follow for themselves, their loved one, work and friends. So, in this busy life, an online platfrom is suitable for him to watch any show or movie later in the night with his family or alone. Additionally, there is a low monthly cost associated with the provided subscription plans by the online service providers. Therefore, person can easily subscribe it and watch without any high charges. It is economical then the other options.
On the other hand, the cinemas and theaters are important both financially and culturally. The main benefits for cinemas is the display and facilities provided by cinema halls. This ambiance is not matchable in home environment and people often go for movies in cinemas due to this environment which they could not find at home. Modern theatres are specialized with facilities such as restraunts, gaming zones and cafes that not only provide food but allows a special family and friends time. The cinema and theatres are providing job opportunities to hundreds of people, in this way it also helps in reducing unemployment. Theatres are culturally very important. These theatres act as the nursuries for the new artistics.
To conclude, I think both the modes of entertainment are important in their capacities. Online platfrom viewership will increase in the coming time due to flexibility. However, cinemas are also important for the generation of revenue and increasing employment opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both the shift toward online entertainment and the enduring economic and cultural value of physical theatres and cinemas, while also stating a clear personal position. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. While the economic contribution of cinemas regarding job creation is reasonably explained, the cultural significance introduced as 'nurseries for the new artistics' is left rather under-developed without sufficient elaboration or concrete examples. To reach a higher level, all main arguments—especially the cultural dimensions—would need to be fully extended and supported with deeper analysis rather than generalized assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear, recognisable organizational structure. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, separating the introduction, the discussion on online platforms, the counter-perspective on physical venues, and the conclusion. However, cohesion at times feels mechanical or slightly faulty, such as the abrupt transition in 'On the other hand, the cinemas and theaters are important both financially and culturally.' Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as shifting pronouns confusingly when discussing urban citizens. To progress further, the writer needs to employ more seamless and flexible cohesive devices to link sentences and paragraphs with greater subtlety and precision.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully communicating the main points despite noticeable constraints. The writer attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'integral part,' 'accelerated work life,' and 'ambiance,' but these attempts sometimes feature inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, or spelling, such as 'platrforms,' 'artistics' instead of artists, and the misuse of 'then' instead of 'than.' Spelling and word-choice errors occur throughout the text, though they generally do not impede communication. To achieve a higher standard, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire, ensuring greater precision in word forms, collocations, and consistently accurate spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional and relative clauses. There are, however, some recurring errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly involving subject-verb agreement and articles, such as 'online platform are essential' and 'a person can easily subscribe it.' Despite these non-systematic errors, the meaning is rarely impeded, and the sentence structures remain largely functional. To move up to the next level, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex structures with higher accuracy, producing a higher frequency of error-free sentences and tighter control over articles and prepositions.
