Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that in this technical era, theatres and cinemas have less importance because people can entertain themselves by watching content online, while others think that theatres and cinemas are still important soirce of entertainment. In my opinion, theatres and cinemas act as a very important source of entertainment as economically and culturally.
Some people think that in today's era, theatres and cinemas are not as important as watching online videos because watching online videos are more efficient and can be accessed from anywhere and anytime. For instance, watching online videos from platform like youtube, instagram are very cost efficient and have hussle-free reach.Furthermore, entertainment from online videos can be done from home without going anywhere, thus saves transportation costs. Therefore, some people thinks entertainment from online video has more importance than going to cinemas and theatre.
Another important fact is that some individuals think that theatres and cinemas both still is both economically and culturally important. It is due to the reason that a nation sometimes become popular by the film industry of a nation, for instance, hollywood, bollywood,k-pop are some prominant film producing industries of America, India and South Korea causing their countries to become very popular and contribute in improving the economical condition of their own nation. On the other hand, theatres are also plays very vital role in entertainment and promotes the culture of a nation because in a theatre actors perform live which oftens shows the background of a nation culturally. Thus, theatres and cinemas are important even in this digital era.
To conclude, in present world despite the enormous development of technology , theatres and cinemas are still very important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—the decline of physical venues due to online media and the economic and cultural importance of theatres and cinemas—and a clear position is presented in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas is uneven. While the first body paragraph adequately explores online video accessibility and cost-efficiency with examples like YouTube and Instagram, the second body paragraph touches upon Hollywood, Bollywood, and live performances, but remains somewhat under-developed and general. To reach a higher level, the ideas supporting the cultural and economic impacts need more thorough elaboration and specific examples rather than broad generalizations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the opposing views, the writer's perspective, and the conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct themes. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'For instance,' 'Furthermore,' and 'On the other hand,' which helps guide the reader through the arguments. Nevertheless, cohesion is occasionally mechanical, and referencing is sometimes imprecise, such as in sentences that lack smooth transitions between clauses. To achieve the next band, the student needs to employ more seamless organizational transitions and ensure that referencing is consistently clear throughout.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate the central ideas of the prompt, successfully employing terms like 'accessibility,' 'cost-efficient,' and 'economically and culturally.' The writer attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'prominent' and 'hustle-free,' but encounters inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and form, for instance writing 'soirce' instead of 'source' and using awkward phrasing like 'hussle-free reach.' Some lexical choices are repetitive, such as the frequent reuse of 'entertainment' and 'important.' To progress further, the student should expand their control of less common lexical items, improve precision in collocations, and minimize spelling and word-form errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures to explain reasons and contrast views, such as 'It is due to the reason that a nation sometimes become popular by the film industry.' However, there are frequent errors in articles, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, including phrases like 'theatres are also plays very vital role' and 'watching online videos are more efficient.' Punctuation and spacing issues also appear near commas and periods. Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, they prevent the grammar from reaching a higher level. To improve, the student needs greater accuracy in basic grammatical patterns and verb forms.
