Student answer (Band 4.5)
Few individuals say that in the modern age, theatres and cinemas are no longer crucial as people can watch all the entertainment they need online. Others say that theatres and cinemas are still mandatory both economically and culturally.
Initially, some people reflect that theatres and cinemas are no longer crucial as they watch all the entertainment they can watch online on their mobile phones in this digital age. First, we talk about those folk who think that theatres and cinemas will not be longer. These are the strongest people who can install netflix, amazon, and prime video and would prefer to watch movies, serials, and seasons on mobile instead of theatres and cinamas. They maker sure their privacy and make them comfort in their own place. Furthermore, this mindset provides them internal peace and mental satisfaction.
Later on, there are those folk who reflect that theatres and cinemas are still crucial both economically and culturally. They believe that it is our culture. They remembered that before the invention of screens (like laptop, l.e.d, and computers) they spent their time with their special ones. Additionally, they reflect that it was the best time to spend time with individuals. They know that it has a lot of benefits such as social intraction and makes connection with our society. Moreover, it would promote economically and culture. They believe that cinemas and theatres make our country economically strong.
From my prospective, the people who think that theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. They are totally wrong. This is just a superstition and one should believe on it and promote the culture and economy of our country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the task minimally and presents a position, but the ideas are limited and under-developed. While both views regarding the role of theatres and cinemas in the digital age are mentioned, the arguments lack sufficient elaboration and real-world support. For example, the explanation regarding streaming services on mobile phones and privacy is repetitive and simplistic. The student's own opinion is introduced in the conclusion, but it is underdeveloped and phrased confusingly, stating that people who hold a certain view are 'totally wrong' and calling it a 'superstition'. Furthermore, 25 words copied directly from the prompt were not included in the minimum count. To move to a higher band, the writer must ensure all parts of the prompt are fully discussed with extended, well-supported ideas and a clear, coherent personal position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some basic organization with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is weak; the second body paragraph awkwardly mixes cultural arguments with historical recollections and economic points. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, relying heavily on basic transitional markers such as 'First', 'Furthermore', 'Later on', and 'Moreover' rather than logical relationships. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use referring back to the audience. To improve, the writer needs to ensure logical sequencing between sentences and paragraphs, and use a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices to guide the reader smoothly through the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer relies heavily on basic, repetitive words such as 'crucial', 'entertainment', 'culture', and 'economically'. There are noticeable lexical errors in word choice, word form, and collocation, such as 'mandatory' instead of 'beneficial' or 'valuable', 'netflx' (capitalization/spelling), 'cinamas' (spelling), 'intraction' (spelling), 'maker sure' instead of 'ensure', and 'from my prospective' instead of 'from my perspective'. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical range to include less common items, improve control over word forms and spelling, and ensure that vocabulary is chosen with accurate collocation and style in mind.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences or faulty attempts at complex ones. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies, missing prepositions, and incorrect article use, such as in 'one should believe on it' instead of 'in it', 'will not be longer', and 'promote economically and culture' (part of speech error). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also weak in places, leading to fragmented or run-on ideas. These frequent errors can cause difficulty and strain for the reader. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of complex sentence forms with improved control, reducing the frequency of basic grammatical mistakes.
