Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people believe that threatres and cinemas lose their importance due to availability of modern means of entertainment whereas others have different opinion. The people still believe that both threatre and cinema are equally important economically as well as culturally. I completely believe that theatres and cinemas lose their significance because of several strong reasons that will be discussed in this essay.
The main reason I agree with this view is that modern means of entertainment are improving day by day. Most of the prople stay busy in their household, official or other tasks and they donot have enough time to go outside for movies etc. In recent times, there were limited means of entertainment thats why prople often visit theatres and cinemas. One big arguement in favour of this statement is that individual have different choices regarding content and there is not enough content available via theatres and cinemas.
On the other hand, with the improvement in modern means of entertainment as well as various social media platforms like youtube, dailymotion etc offer multiple types of content around the clock. One can watch his favourite content whenever he likes at his own pace. Additionally, everyone prefers to watch different type of content as no one have enough time to watch 2 to 3 hours movie or drama etc. Therefore, this arguement furhter strengthen my point of view.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that threatres and cinemas face a decline in their significance. This is because of time and content both play a crucial role in shaping individuals' preference. Overall latest means of technology is more attractive than old means of entertainment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially. While you mention both views briefly in the introduction, your discussion tends to blur the distinction between them, and you state your own opinion immediately as agreeing that theatres and cinemas have lost their significance rather than fully examining both sides in depth. The ideas presented are somewhat limited and under-developed, particularly when discussing why modern means of entertainment replace physical venues. For instance, your point about people being busy in household tasks is stated generally without strong elaboration or relevant examples from your own experience. To move up to the next level, you would need to explore both views more fully and extend your supporting arguments with clearer explanations and concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation evident in your writing, with clear paragraph breaks separating your introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas as the arguments tend to repeat themselves rather than build towards a climax. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate, inaccurate, or overused, such as the repetitive use of connectors like 'Additionally' and 'On the other hand' in ways that do not always link the contrasting points smoothly. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as when you use pronouns without a distinct antecedent. To improve cohesion, you should work on ensuring that each paragraph flows logically into the next and that a wider variety of cohesive ties is used accurately to signal relationships between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate for the task. You attempt some less common vocabulary items, such as 'significance', 'alternative', and 'platforms', but there are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form throughout the text. For example, you repeatedly misspell 'theatres' as 'threatres' and 'people' as 'prople'. Additionally, phrases like 'big arguement in favour' and 'individual have different choices' contain collocation and pluralisation errors that distract the reader. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your range of vocabulary, use less common lexical items with greater precision regarding style and collocation, and carefully check your spelling and word forms before final submission.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
Your grammar features a limited range of structures, with your attempts at complex sentences often proving faulty. You rely mostly on simple or basic compound forms, and there are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and subject-verb agreement that can cause some difficulty for the reader. For instance, sentences such as 'The people still believe that both threatre and cinema are equally important economically' and 'no one have enough time' demonstrate clear agreement and tense issues. Punctuation and articles are also handled inconsistently, such as omitting necessary articles before nouns. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a greater variety of complex sentence structures while improving your overall accuracy and control over basic grammatical rules.
