Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued that, due to the ott platforms theatres and cinemas are no longer considered as important. Where others believe that cinemas and theatres are important in both economically and culturally. In my opinion, i agree with the latter statement that movies and theatres are still important to increase the new talent in the present generation.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why theatres and cinemas are not important. Firstly, due to ott platforms like amazon prime and netflix. Where the movies are released in to ott by two or three weeks of the movie release, it creates negative impact on watching movies in the theatres. Secondly, due to lazines and cost of the movies tickets while many people prefer watching movies alone and the price of the cinema tickets were at it peaks. Finally, the cinemas have the routine stories and adult content. Which can damage the children brain and creates the negative thoughts.
On the other hand, the reasons why still prefer watching movies on theatres are spending time with the loved ones and for stress relief. Many people will watch movies in theaters were college students, to spend the time with their patners. Other watch cinemas in theatres due heavy work and for relaxation.
In my opinion, we all need to watch movies in theatres because to encourage new generation to become an actor. For instance, there are some movies which give motivation and make think us from different prespective, for encouraging this kind of films we all need to consider this category as important.
In conclusion, there are different views about the theatres and movies that to watch in online or offline. I personally perfer watching movies at offline to support both economically and culturally.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views regarding the importance of theatres and cinemas in the digital age, and presents a personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed, which keeps the response at this level. For instance, the second body paragraph lists points like laziness and ticket prices without sufficient elaboration or concrete examples. Furthermore, the argument in the fourth paragraph about encouraging new actors is somewhat vague and restricted in its explanation. To reach a higher standard, the writer needs to extend each main point with fuller explanations, clearer reasoning, and specific examples rather than relying on brief assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, and the response uses standard signposts such as 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion'. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the essay, and some sentences feel disconnected or isolated, such as the fragment starting with 'Where the movies are released'. Additionally, cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate or inaccurate, with repetitive patterns and mechanical referencing. For example, starting multiple sentences with 'Due to' or 'For' disrupts the smooth flow of ideas. To improve coherence, the writer should ensure that sentences connect logically to one another and use a wider variety of cohesive relationships naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary suitable for expressing basic ideas about cinemas and streaming platforms. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'ott platforms', 'lazines', 'movies tickets', 'at it peaks', and 'watch movies at offline'. Inaccuracies in word formation and collocation cause some difficulty for the reader at times. To move towards a stronger level of lexical resource, the writer needs to expand their vocabulary range, incorporate more sophisticated and less common terms accurately, and pay closer attention to word forms, spellings, and standard collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty or incomplete, such as 'Where others believe that cinemas and theatres are important in both economically and culturally' and 'Which can damage the children brain'. There are frequent errors in grammar, including incorrect prepositions ('in theatres' versus 'on theatres'), faulty article usage, and sentence fragments that lack a main clause. These frequent errors can cause difficulty and distraction for the reader. To achieve a higher score, the writer must demonstrate better control over complex grammatical structures, improve punctuation, and reduce basic errors in agreement, word forms within grammatical patterns, and sentence construction.
