Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this digital era of high speed internet has revolutionized how media is consumed, theatres and cinemas will be no longer availabe due to online entertainment. In my opinion online internet is unmatchable, more convenience and cost effective than theatres and cinemas.Today online streaming application like Netflix, Amazon and daily motion provides access to thousands movies and documentaries within a minutes. One of the major is economical factors that provides the single subcription provides link to more than one person. In digital age their is choice is on person what they want to see on single click privately. While in previously peoples goes at specific time to watch specific movie on theatres.

Today is world is moving on fast track in every aspect of life, peoples have no time to shared emotions and laughter together as previously seen in theatres and cinemas while watching movies. Now a days peoples want to see any emotional or laughter moment on live streaming. Peoples saves money from different food items during watching in cinemas.

On the other hand peoples love to see theatres and cinemas are shared emotions and plot of movie with others and also decides to meet up someone at that time and enjoying moments while watching. Cinemas is also source for different artists and their team to become financially strong. Now a days most of them have passed their life with poverty.

In my views yes digital age reduces the entertainment on theatres and cinemas due to high speed internet

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views regarding the importance of theatres versus online streaming, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on economic factors only briefly touches on subscriptions sharing without elaboration. The student's position is somewhat discernible by the end, stating that the digital age reduces entertainment in traditional venues, but the progression of this stance lacks clarity throughout. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully extend and support each viewpoint with clear examples and maintain a well-developed, consistent position throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The essay displays some organization, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas, leading to a disjointed reading experience. Paragraphing is attempted, but ideas are jumbled together without logical grouping, such as mixing economic factors with historical viewing habits in the first paragraph. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, with excessive reliance on basic connectors like 'Today' and 'On the other hand'. Referencing is also problematic, as seen with unclear pronoun use like 'their is choice is on person'. To improve, the writer must group related ideas into distinct paragraphs and use a wider, more accurate range of cohesive devices to establish clear logical progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic concepts about streaming versus cinemas. There are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'online internet is unmatchable, more convenience', 'daily motion', and 'single subcription'. Spelling errors like 'availabe' and 'peoples' are also present. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'economical factors' and 'live streaming', but these are handled with frequent inaccuracies. To progress further, the student should expand their lexical range, ensure correct word forms, and refine collocations for more precise expression.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response shows a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences, and attempts at complex structures are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors that can cause difficulty for the reader, including subject-verb agreement issues ('cinemas will be no longer availabe'), incorrect verb forms ('peoples goes', 'peoples saves'), missing articles, and awkward prepositional usage. Punctuation control is also weak, with run-on sentences and fragments. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to produce a greater variety of complex sentence forms with better control over grammar, tense consistency, and basic syntactic rules.
