Student answer (Band 4.5)
In some point of views people think that in future theatres and cinemas are no longer important as individuals can watch all the entertainment online what they want, while other argues that theatres and cinemas were important both culturally and economically. In my opinion, they both were less important because of development of internet technology.
On the one hand, citizens think that in future they were less needed and they think right because with growing days technology developed many other ways for people to entertain themselves such as: internet, mobile phones, laptops and any other this type of devices. So people do not need to go out for entertain and relaxed themselves. They watch all that programs or quiz on their own devices through the internet.
While other, argues for that they both were needed for economically and culturally but people research everything about it on internet at their home. It saves our time and physical efforts to go out for research on them. Also it is more convenient then they go out and collecting information about employment and for cultures. In future it is very helpful for people to research what they want in life have on internet because life will goes very fast in future and we have less time to research about the topics we want.
In future, i think the advantages of the theatres and cinemas outweigh the diadvantages for uses the internet instead to go outside to entertain themselves and watch what wanted and collecting the information about culture or economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response responds to the task only minimally, which is reflected in a low band. Additionally, the length requirement of a minimum of 250 words is not met; the student's response contains 248 words (note that 8 words copied from the task prompt were not counted). While the student attempts to discuss both views and give an opinion, the ideas remain highly repetitive, limited, and under-developed throughout the essay. The position is stated but lacks clear supporting evidence or well-reasoned arguments, often circling back to basic points about internet usage without exploring the cultural or economic dimensions meaningfully. To improve, the writer must ensure they meet the minimum word count and fully develop distinct arguments for each viewpoint with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The essay displays some organization with basic paragraphing, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and repetitively, such as the frequent transitions like 'In some point of views', 'On the one hand', and 'While other, argues'. Referencing is often unclear, making it difficult to follow which argument or group of people the writer is referring to from one sentence to the next. To move to a higher level, the writer needs to logically sequence ideas and employ a wider, more natural range of cohesive devices without overusing formulaic transition phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, employing simple terms such as 'important', 'internet', 'entertainment', and 'research' frequently throughout the text. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'In some point of views', 'for entertain and relaxed themselves', and 'then they go out'. These inaccuracies and limited word choices cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the precision of the argument. To improve, the student should expand their range of vocabulary and learn correct collocations and word forms related to the topic of media and technology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to distorted meaning in places. Errors in grammar, tense, articles, and prepositions are frequent and often cause difficulty for the reader, as seen in phrases like 'people think that in future theatres and cinemas are no longer important', 'other argues', and 'uses the internet instead to go outside'. Punctuation is also problematic throughout. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to increase their control over basic grammatical structures, ensure proper subject-verb agreement, and reduce the frequency of sentence-level errors.
