Student answer (Band 5.5)

Entertainment is always been a crucial aspect of daily human life.Theatres and cinemas are always been a part of entertainment industry for a very long time. However in the modern era, we have different opinoins for these entertainment places some people still believe that thet need these place for daily entertainment while other fine internet a more suitable way to entertain themselves. In my opinion, I prefer the theatres version of entertainment but the type of entertainment entiely depends on the person and as well as situation.

The theatres and cinemas have both economical and culture advantages. It helps people to exchange their ideas and culture through several means. For example, Japan have one of the biggest billion dollars anime industry all over the world. Through this industry Japan not just present its culture to the world but this industry helps them in economical means as well.

While on the other hand, people with introvert nature usually seek entertainment online because one can entertain himself/herself anywhere and anytime. For example, social media like instagram, facebook and youtube are the most popular online platform for entertainment now a days. people having busy day schedual usually prefered these online platform.

In conclusion, the mean of entertainment entirely depend on person and situation like for some countries theatres and cinemas are still one of the crucial part of their economical growth while some people enjoy solely. I pesonally prefered the theaters and cinemas over online platform because it helps me to get to know about different people, their cultures and the ideas they have.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the decline of theatres in the digital age and their ongoing economic and cultural importance, while also including a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and partial. For instance, the example regarding the Japanese anime industry is introduced to show cultural and economic benefits, but it is not fully connected back to the context of cinemas and theatres. Similarly, the points regarding introverted individuals and social media platforms are briefly mentioned without deep extension. To move to a higher band, the student needs to fully develop all aspects of the argument with more detailed explanations and relevant, well-integrated examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a clear attempt to organize the response into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing different viewpoints, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or faulty cohesive devices. Words like 'While on the other hand' and 'In conclusion' are used, but referencing within and between sentences is occasionally unclear, such as the abrupt transitions between the economic benefits of media and the habits of introverted people. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion lacks seamless flow. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately and ensure logical links between sentences are smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student displays an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully attempting less common lexical items such as 'crucial aspect', 'economical and culture advantages', and 'introvert nature'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that reflect a limited and minimally adequate range. Examples include writing 'economical' instead of 'economic', 'culture advantages' instead of 'cultural advantages', 'opinoins', 'thet', 'entiely', 'schedual', 'prefered', and 'mean' instead of 'means'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the score. To achieve a higher band, the student must expand their vocabulary control, ensure correct word forms, and eliminate spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing relies on a limited range of sentence structures, consisting largely of simple sentences and basic complex forms. Attempts at more complex structures frequently contain errors. There are numerous grammatical mistakes throughout the text, particularly with verb forms, auxiliary verbs, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'Entertainment is always been', 'Theatres and cinemas are always been', 'people having busy day schedual', and 'depend on person'. Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and omitted articles. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer needs to incorporate a wider variety of error-free complex sentence structures and improve basic grammatical accuracy.
