Student answer (Band 4.5)

In many countries of the world, it is argued by some people that nowadays people can watch all the thing they want online and the theatres and cinemas are no longer need for people in modern age for financial benefit. Meanwhile, other believe that for both economically and culturally theatres and cinemas are still important for better quality. However, I believe that people watch entertainment they want online for save time.

On the one hand, the supporters of the idea theatres and cinemas are no longer important and people watch all thing online they wanted believe that it better for financial benefit. As they watch all entertainment they want without any charge. Take an example, the Prime Minister of Japan, said that nowadays people watch every thing they wanted free cost on internet. Thus, the supporters of the this view support their finding back their analysis with valid argument.

While on the other hand, the advocates of the view that theatres and cinemas are still important believe that it is best for better quality. As in cinemas they provide a large screen and good quality of video. Take an example, a survey conduct in Japan, most people said that theatres are still important for good quality. Hence, this view also seems to carry a lot weightage.

However, I believe that people watch online everything for save time. As they watch everything at any place.

To sum up, even though theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally, but I believe that people watch online everything for time saving.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response addresses the task only partially, as the ideas presented are limited and under-developed. While both views are mentioned, the discussion relies heavily on repetitive assertions rather than deep elaboration. For instance, the argument regarding economic benefits simply states 'As they watch all entertainment they want without any charge,' which lacks sufficient supporting detail or valid reasoning. Additionally, the student's own opinion is introduced somewhat simplistically and repeats the notion of saving time without fully integrating it into the broader debate about cultural and economic importance. To reach a higher standard, the writer needs to present well-developed positions with extended explanations and more convincing, relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation present, with distinct paragraphs attempting to cover different perspectives and the writer's own opinion. However, the overall progression is hampered by mechanical and repetitive use of cohesive devices, such as 'On the one hand' and 'While on the other hand,' which are sometimes used awkwardly. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the logical flow between sentences is disrupted by abrupt shifts and repetitive phrasing. Paragraphing is utilised to separate the introduction, body points, and conclusion, but transitions lack smoothness. To improve, the writer should focus on creating a clearer overall progression and employing a wider, more natural variety of linking words to connect ideas fluidly.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors that cause some difficulty for the reader. The writer relies on basic and repetitive terms, such as 'watch all the thing they want online' and 'better quality.' There are frequent lexical inaccuracies, including word choice and collocation errors like 'for save time,' 'free cost,' and 'carry a lot weightage.' These awkward phrasings reveal a restricted range of expression. To achieve a higher band, the student must expand their vocabulary range, incorporate less common lexical items with greater precision, and pay closer attention to natural word combinations and accurate word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, and the attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. Frequent errors in grammar, articles, prepositions, and plurals are present throughout the essay, such as 'theatres and cinemas are no longer need,' 'other believe,' and 'for time saving.' Simple sentence forms dominate, and when complex structures are attempted, they often contain structural breakdowns that strain comprehension. Punctuation and verb form control are also inconsistent. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of sentence patterns while significantly improving the accuracy of basic grammatical agreements, tense usages, and prepositional patterns.
