Student answer (Band 5.0)
People have different views about wheather theatres and movies are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online or some people belive that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. This essay discuss both percespctives and i belive both are important in todays world.
To began with, supporters of the view argue that movies and cinema halls are less considered by people in today's world entertainment is accessiable in any corner of the world through internet. This is beacuse in today's busy world after really a hectic day people definetly need relaxation. Most of the people prefer watching movies or series by the end of the day, during this time people are very badly tired so most of them prefer watching in online platforms like netflix, prime and some other entertainment platforms. The other reason is convience because it can be accessed from anywhere by using internet. For example, I am a person who prefer movies and entertainment shows as stress busters. In many situations hardly 3-4 is only available to other activities. I always choose convience as my priority because sitting 3 long hours in theaters is not my cup of tea. If i am really enjoying the movie or show i definetly continue watching by pauses and the remaining part of time for 1-2 hours will be family time. As a result, due to the above reasons mentioned movies and theaters are prefered less in modern era.
On the other hand, other belive that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. This is because flim industry is totally dependent only on movie theatres for their return of investment. For 90's generation cinema is an emotion because it created a trend of visting theatres along with family once in a while, it is still being continued by few families. For instance, my family mostly prefer visiting theatres on special occations and a new film release of there fond actor. As a result, cinemas are traditionally coming from many decads and slowly it turned into commercial. I personally belive that both views are important in some situations due to lack of time we choose online platforms or televisons. In long weekends we can choose going out with family to cinemas for family time.
In conclusion, although theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online is more convincing because of lack of time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt partially by discussing both views and providing an opinion, meeting the minimum word requirement (note that 63 words copied from the prompt were excluded). However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on economic and cultural importance relies on general statements like 'flim industry is totally dependent only on movie theatres for their return of investment' without deeper elaboration. The position is stated, but the arguments lack sufficient extension and tend to over-generalise, placing the response firmly at this level. To move higher, the student needs to fully develop all parts of the task with more thorough and specific explanations or examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some organisation with clear paragraph breaks and basic signposts such as 'To began with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the flow is occasionally disrupted by mechanical or repetitive cohesive devices, such as the repeated use of 'This is because' and 'As a result'. Referencing can also be unclear, making it harder to track the logical progression between sentences. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to ensure smoother transitions between ideas and use a wider variety of cohesive devices more accurately to establish a clear and logical progression throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary suitable for discussing entertainment and lifestyle. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors that cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'wheather' instead of 'whether', 'belive' instead of 'believe', 'accessiable' instead of 'accessible', 'convience' instead of 'convenience', 'decads' instead of 'decades', and 'occations' instead of 'occasions'. Less common lexical items are attempted but often marred by incorrect word forms or spelling mistakes. To improve, the writer must expand their vocabulary range and pay closer attention to accurate spelling and word formation to ensure precise communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic complex forms. Attempts at more complex structures are frequently faulty, leading to frequent grammatical errors that can cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('movies and theaters are prefered less', 'other belive'), preposition misuse ('dependent only on'), and awkward phrasing ('there fond actor'). Punctuation and article usage also need refinement. To progress, the writer should practice constructing a wider variety of complex sentence forms with greater accuracy, focusing on verb patterns, article rules, and overall sentence construction.
