Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this technical era, certain individuals beleive that movie complexs or cinemas as no longer crucial as masses can watch all the shows on online. However another section of society thinks that theaters are providing benefits regarding financially or preserving traditional activities. This will discuss both aspects and I agree with former viewpoint.

To commence with, there are so many causes why individuals preffer to watch movie on internet instead of cinema or theater. First and foremost is that it is cheaper as compare to watch movie in theatre, For instance all type of movies are available on internet at Free af cost, people easily watch this movies. Moreover individuals can watch a movie on online at anytime or anywhere without any problem, with the help of mobile phones or computer's. Therefore, they make their own theatre at home for their family to watch films on internet on laptops or computers. In this way they make a strong bond with their family.

Furthermore, there are are some reasons why, cinemas are crucial for our upcoming generation. Firstly it's play a major role in culture, For example it is helpful for preserving traditional things, when all people prefer watch movie online instead of cinema, people totally lost cinema cultureral identity, then next generation can not know about theatre and cinema. Apart from this, it provides a important role in economic development, like a lot if celebrities earn money from cinemas or thetres, when people can not watch movie in cinema the hardwork of celebrities totally waste and tgey can not earn money. Besides that, some online websites provide fake content, and feel bad experience that time, but in cinema they watch truly content.

To conclude this, in my point of view, i believe that people feel more convenience, when they watch movie online, like save their money and get a chance to watch film anytime or anywhere, also few drawbacks can not be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views and stating a personal opinion in the introduction, but the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For example, while the writer mentions economic benefits and cultural preservation in the third paragraph, the supporting points remain repetitive and lack specific elaboration. The position is stated, but the arguments provided for both sides are quite simplistic and rely on general assertions rather than extended, fully supported reasoning. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to explore each viewpoint with deeper, more fully explained arguments and relevant real-world examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some overall organization with clear paragraph breaks, yet it lacks a clear, consistent overall progression. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, repetitive, or inaccurate, such as starting multiple paragraphs with formulaic phrases like 'To commence with' and 'Furthermore, there are are some reasons why'. Additionally, referencing and logical linking between sentences can be faulty, making the flow somewhat mechanical. For instance, the transition from discussing home viewing to family bonding feels abrupt. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive ties more naturally and ensure each paragraph progresses logically from a clear topic sentence to well-linked supporting ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The text contains noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'beleive', 'movie complexs', 'cultureral', and 'tgey'. The student relies heavily on basic vocabulary and attempts less common items with noticeable inaccuracy, such as writing 'at Free af cost' or 'feel bad experience that time' instead of natural collocations. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical range, ensure correct word forms and spellings, and incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary with accurate collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences or attempts at complex structures that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in verb forms, articles, plurals, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, including examples like 'cinemas as no longer crucial', 'as compare to watch movie', and 'it's play a major role'. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and impede smooth comprehension. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over complex sentence forms, ensure accurate subject-verb agreement, and minimize basic grammatical slips throughout the text.
