Student answer (Band 5.5)
In digitalisation era, few individuals beleive that theatres and cinemas role are now less imperative as they watch all comedy and fun shows through ott platforms via technology devices. While other group are on the side of favouring old method to have a look of films in cinema houses. This essay will discuss both perspective of a debate and provide a relevant point to establish my side on latter opinion as they are still people first choice and mean a source of entertainment for families and friends.
To begin with, the upper point related to thinking of society is that various software apps have access to display movies and films on a launching day. To explain more, movies earn money through various resources in recent time rather than only from theatres.
Online access of films for individuals is far effortless. Therefore, citizens beleive that the role of theatre become significantly less important as there are more options available It is far convenient to access pictures, movies and many more with mobiles and laptop. Moreover, the press offers by various ott channel is comparatively lower .They provide one month subscription at a cost of one film in cinemas. For example, netflix is considered as the number one platform and provide yearly subscription at just two thousand of affordable ability and convenient source of digital era it makes a depressed fall in old segment and become attractive for adults.
On the other hand, still cinemas role plays a crucial role related to watching movies as a source of entertainment. To elaborate it ,it is a source for individuals to devote time with their loving ones by visit to theatres. It becomes a connective source and weekend activity for various families. Entertainment seens become cherish movement in family. However, digital devices show a connection gap. Therefore, it is still priority for citizens. Furthermore, cinemas generate high revenue to the production cast, as a charge of ticket is relatively higher. Hence, cinemas play a significant role for production cast and family bonding.
To conclude, both favours by society is genuine and satisfied as a point of view. However, i beleive that latter statement outwieght the upper point as family connectivity and good income for cast is more prior. If these pillars broken then movies, serials should found a decline effect.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the view that cinemas are no longer important due to online platforms and the view that they remain economically and culturally significant. A clear personal position is presented in the introduction and maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For example, while the economic argument regarding revenue for the production cast is briefly mentioned, it is somewhat under-developed, and parts of the explanation regarding digital accessibility are repetitive and lack precise support. To move to a higher band, the writer would need to extend and support all main arguments with deeper analysis and more fully fleshed-out examples rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion logically. There is an attempt to sequence ideas and use cohesive devices to guide the reader, such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty, and referencing is not always clear, as seen in phrases like 'the upper point' or confusing transitions between sentences. Pronoun referencing and inter-sentence links occasionally blur the logical progression. To achieve a higher band, the writer must ensure that cohesive devices are used more flexibly and naturally, and that the logical bridges between sentences and paragraphs are smoother and more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'digitalisation', 'subscription', and 'revenue'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word formation throughout the response, such as 'beleive', 'press offers', 'affordable ability', 'seens', and 'cherish movement'. These lexical errors and awkward collocations stem from an over-reliance on basic or mistranslated phrasing. While communication is not severely hindered, the frequent inaccuracies in vocabulary and spelling prevent the response from reaching a higher level. To improve, the writer should focus on expanding their precise vocabulary and learning standard word collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures with relative clauses and subordinating conjunctions. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that indicate a lack of secure control. Issues include persistent subject-verb agreement errors ('theatres and cinemas role are', 'theatre become'), incorrect prepositions, awkward article usage, and mechanical punctuation errors. Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, they occur regularly enough to restrict the response. To progress, the writer needs to increase grammatical accuracy in complex sentence patterns, particularly regarding word order, verb forms, and pluralisation.
