Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response responds to the task only minimally, failing to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words by stopping abruptly at 108 words. While the introduction attempts to outline both views and gives a personal stance, the body paragraphs are severely incomplete, preventing any meaningful exploration or extension of the ideas. Consequently, the task is addressed only partially, and the discussion of economic and cultural aspects is left undeveloped.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an attempt to impose a basic structure with introductory framing and transition words such as 'Firstly'. However, the information and ideas are not arranged coherently because the essay cuts off mid-sentence in the second paragraph, meaning there is no clear overall progression or conclusion. Paragraphing is also disrupted by the truncated format, and cohesive devices are limited and mechanical, making it difficult for the reader to follow a sustained argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, featuring frequent errors in word choice, spelling, and word form that strain the reader's understanding. Examples include 'microsoft era' instead of modern digital era, 'considring', 'cruical', and 'convinant'. The student attempts some less common terms like 'refreshment material' and 'heactic', but these are inaccurate or unnatural in this context, reflecting a limited and minimally adequate lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on basic patterns with frequent errors that can cause difficulty for the reader. There are noticeable issues with subject-verb agreement and pronoun usage, such as 'few people believe' when intending 'some people believe', and 'once should moved'. Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent, and attempts at complex sentences show a lack of control over tense consistency and auxiliary verbs.
