Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the discussion: online viewing is presented as convenient and cheaper, while cinemas are linked to employment, tax revenue and cultural understanding. However, the discussion is only partially developed, which limits how fully the task is answered. The economic explanation becomes difficult to follow in “government not collect tax” and the claim that this prevents public projects, while the cultural point is broad rather than supported with a specific example. Your own position is also unclear: the conclusion says people watch films in cinemas, but earlier you describe them as choosing online entertainment. State your view directly and support each main point with a clear example. The 29 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an identifiable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about online entertainment, a paragraph about the continuing value of cinemas, and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “However” and “Overall” helps show the intended contrast. Nevertheless, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and ideas are repeated rather than developed—for example, the first body paragraph repeatedly says people watch online to save time and money. Some links between claims are hard to follow, particularly the sequence from tax collection to government projects. Use one clear topic sentence per paragraph, arrange supporting points in a logical order, and make references such as “they” and “that reasons” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital age,” “online platform,” “economically,” “culturally,” “tax,” and “culture.” This gives the response a basic range for discussing the question. However, vocabulary is limited and repeated, and frequent spelling, word-form, and collocation errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “morden,” “enterainment,” “effects doing,” and “saved their money and time.” Choose accurate, natural phrases and check spelling carefully; for instance, describe cinemas as “contributing to the economy” rather than saying they have “many effects doing.” More precise terms for convenience, revenue, and cultural identity would also help you explain your ideas clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect ideas with clauses, as in “because they were watched a movies” and “because people not watch movie that reasons tax not collect,” but these attempts are often faulty. Most sentences rely on a narrow pattern, and frequent problems with tense, verb forms, subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “people are not watch” needs a correctly formed verb, while “they were spended a time” has an incorrect verb form. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using “because,” “while,” or “which.” Check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly conjugated verb, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
