Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is an irrefutable fact, some individuals assert that in the age of technology, theatrical and cinematic entertainment are less relevant as masses can view all the entertainment they want online. Others claim that stage and screen are still crucial for both financially and culturally. This essay will discuss both the view and elucidates my opinion in following paragraphs.
To commence with, supporter of this view base their argument on several key reasons. One of the substantial influence is online platforms offer greater variety at a lower cost. To explain it, in modern technological era, there are numerous OTT platforms so masses can get premium once a time and watch thousands of movies and series instead of taking tickets from the performing arts and films which can save money a lot. Secondly, online entertainment are more convenient. To elucidate it, with the online platforms, civilians can enjoy their favourite movies anytime and anywhere and also reduces the stress of travelling.
On the other hand, there are equally strong argument supporting the opposite viewpoints. Firstly, stage and screen provide a unique cultural and social experience. To narrate it, performing arts can develop sense of community in person beacuse in cinemas people watch movie with the thousands of audience which can help them to interact and make the picture more enjoyable. Furthermore, they provide employment and support the economy. To expound it, in a film industries, there are many work which give inhabitants to earn money such as managing staff, cleanliness department and security.
In conclusion, there are several benefits to online entertainment such as offer greater variety at a lower cost and are convenient. As per my own perspective, I think performing arts are better option beacuse masses can experience to watch among audience as well as helps to grow subsequent business.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the discussion and gives a clear personal preference: online viewing is convenient and varied, while cinemas and performing arts offer shared experiences and employment. These points are relevant, and the conclusion returns to the writer’s view. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the online benefits are explained with examples, while the economic and cultural importance of theatres and cinemas is asserted more briefly. For instance, the employment point lists staff roles but does not explain the wider economic contribution, and the cultural point focuses mainly on audience interaction. Develop these ideas with a specific example or further explanation, and make the opinion’s reasoning more explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Its progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help identify each stage. This secure organisation is supported by relevant sequencing within paragraphs. However, the linking language is sometimes mechanical or repetitive: several sentences begin with formulaic phrases such as “To explain it” and “To elucidate it.” Some references are also unclear, as in “this view” and “the opposite viewpoints,” where naming the view directly would make the connection more precise. Use a wider range of natural transitions and link each example explicitly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response shows an adequate range for the topic, including terms such as “OTT platforms,” “performing arts,” “cultural and social experience,” and “support the economy.” It also attempts more formal vocabulary, for example “irrefutable,” “elucidates,” and “expound.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the meaning less clear: “premium once a time,” “taking tickets from the performing arts,” and “give inhabitants to earn money.” There are also spelling errors, including “beacuse.” Aim for precise, natural collocations rather than inserting formal synonyms where they do not fit. For example, describe platforms as offering “a subscription” and say that the industry “provides jobs for local residents.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “as masses can view…” and a time-and-place construction in “anytime and anywhere.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include the missing subject–verb agreement in “online entertainment are more convenient,” the singular/plural mismatch in “there are equally strong argument,” and the incomplete construction “This essay will discuss both the view and elucidates my opinion.” Articles and sentence structure also need attention in phrases such as “in a film industries” and “helps to grow subsequent business.” Review agreement, articles, and parallel verb forms, then proofread each sentence to ensure its clauses are complete and logically connected.
