Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this era, some people argue that theatres and cinemas are still crucial for both economically and culturally. However others believe that in the digital age, theatres and movies are not such important as they can watch each and every entertainment they want through online. This essay will discuss both views before explaining why I believe that the movies and theatres are crucial for people for entertainment.
On the one hand, many people believe that most of theatres or cinemas are not working properly while they are giving us entertaiment. This is because, people in the digital age, theatres and cinemas not seeing they gave importance to the all online over-the-top platforms can share many digital content delivered directly over the internet. For instance, a family want to enjoy their weekends however they have streaming services on internet so, they didnot go anywhere by watching these in home they can make enjoy. Therefore, people will use digital platforms to watch all the entertainments through online.
On the other hand, others argue that theatres and cinemas are more crucial also benificial for people as well as economically and culturally, whereas for people can enjoy movies in theatre . This is mainly because while we are watching movie in theatre that sounds, vibration, editing and graphics we can enjoy a lot at that moment. For example, when the people watching movies extremly high at that time economically and culturally more helpful. However, I believe that watching movies in theatres are important for our enjoyness moreover financially producer will also get profit.
To conclude, although both views have their merits, I believe that going to theatres for watching movies is best option because while watching cinema we can get relax our mind can transfer to jollyness.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state a preference for theatres and cinemas, so the response is relevant to the question. The first body paragraph gives a recognisable reason for online viewing—streaming lets families enjoy entertainment at home—and the second mentions the cinema experience and possible financial benefits. However, the discussion remains partial: the economic and cultural importance is asserted rather than explained, and the example about people watching movies “extremly high” does not clearly support the point. Your position also shifts slightly from saying theatres are crucial for entertainment to saying they are the “best option,” without explaining when or why. Develop each view with a clear, specific reason and example, then make your own judgement consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic essay structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers identify the sections. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because ideas are joined mechanically or their relationships are unclear. For example, the sentence beginning “This is because” moves from theatres not working properly to online platforms without a clear explanation, while “For example” introduces an example that is hard to interpret. Some linking words, including “however” and “therefore,” do not accurately express the connection between ideas. Use shorter, clearly ordered explanations and ensure each example directly illustrates the point before moving to the next idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “digital age,” “streaming services,” “online platforms,” “economically,” and “culturally,” which helps establish the subject. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas about the cinema experience, such as sound, vibration, and graphics. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning unclear. Phrases such as “each and every entertainment,” “most of theatres,” “enjoyness,” and “transfer to jollyness” are not natural in this context; “entertainment” is also generally uncountable. Spelling errors such as “entertaiment,” “benificial,” and “didnot” further reduce control. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because,” and “although.” This shows an effort to connect ideas rather than relying only on short statements. However, control is inconsistent, and faulty sentence structures frequently make the message difficult to follow. For example, “people in the digital age, theatres and cinemas not seeing they gave importance” lacks a clear grammatical structure, and “a family want … they have … they didnot go” shifts between present and past forms. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “watching movies in theatres are important.” Practise building one complete main clause at a time, then add subordinate clauses with consistent tense and correct subject–verb agreement.
