Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many people believe that with the advancement of technology, theatres and cinemas are no longer being considered crucial as people can stream all the entertainment they want with the help of websites. On contrary, some people think otherwise. This essay aligns with the latter view of this arguement.Reasonably, theatres and cinema halls are one of the major scopes to create a get together arrangements with your closed ones.

Admittedly, people are becoming homebound as they are getting every thing right into their palm of hands with the time being.Nevertheless,in the upcoming years, this advancement of technology will make people home-sick and lazier.Furthermore, people are able to livestream unreleased movies easily just by seating into their homes with the assistance of pirated websites which is the consequence of cultural, social and economical degradation. As an outcome, the ethical issues are being judged when people are using the pirated sites for entertainment purpose.Additionally, overall process of enjoying entertainment resonates with the lack of appreciation to the true essence of cultural platforms. For instance, when people are going to watch a movie through a pirated site, the filmmakers may get demotivated and distracted rather than producing a masterpeice with his talents. The directors may think their sacrifices towards these production and film-making may go in vain.

However, the experience of watching upcoming films, movies, theatre shows, art films, short films through the big screens of theatres or cinema halls is remarkable. In this busy and chaotic life of people each and every individuals are competing with others.Consequently,we are less likely to enjoy movie whether its funny, tragic, action films and thrillers with our loved and closed ones.Planning a movie outing together gives us the opportunity to meet and greet our people.Additionally, rather than confing ourselves into the tiny screens of our mobile phone or laptops we should enjoy the atmosphere of watching and enjoying a movie on a big screen such as 3D,4D,4DX and 5D.Because the experience of these are uncomparable.

In conclusion,we should keep our culture alive through the practice of livestreaming entertainments by ging to theatres and cinema halls rather than confining ourselves into our tech devices.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state your preference for the continued importance of theatres and cinemas. The discussion of online entertainment raises relevant concerns about piracy and its effects on filmmakers, while the opposing case is supported with social benefits and the distinctive experience of large-screen formats. However, the economic importance mentioned in the prompt is not really discussed, and the argument about online viewing sometimes shifts from convenience to piracy without fully examining the broader case for streaming. Some points, such as how outings strengthen relationships, would benefit from a specific example and fuller explanation. Develop both sides more evenly and make the economic and cultural contributions explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting concerns about online viewing, a paragraph supporting cinemas, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Nevertheless,” “Furthermore,” and “However” help signal the direction of the argument. At times, though, connections between ideas are not fully clear. For example, the move from people becoming homebound to piracy and then to ethical issues feels abrupt, and “As an outcome” does not clearly show the relationship between the preceding points. Some references, including “these” in the discussion of screen formats, are unclear. Use more precise links and ensure each paragraph develops one central line of reasoning.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural platforms,” “pirated websites,” “filmmakers,” and “chaotic,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “major scopes to create a get together arrangements,” “closed ones,” and “theatres and cinema halls.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “arguement,” “masterpeice,” and “confing,” also reduce precision. Some expressions are unnecessarily elaborate, such as “the ethical issues are being judged,” where a simpler, more exact phrase would communicate the point better. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “when,” and “rather than,” and most of the argument remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “each and every individuals are competing” has an agreement problem, while “the experience of these are uncomparable” does not form a clear grammatical sentence. Several long sentences combine multiple ideas and become difficult to follow, particularly the sentence beginning “Additionally, overall process…”. Commas are often missing after introductory phrases, and spacing around punctuation is inconsistent. Break up overloaded sentences and check agreement and sentence boundaries during revision.
