Student answer (Band 4.5)

In the moden of era, Some people say that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online. Others argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. we will discuss this essay and give my opinnion.

on the first hand , many people say theatres and cinemas are no longe important as people. i think many are go their for only watch a very big view as well as many people gop their only spend a personal time with another person. mnay people go theatres and cinemas as a result his a big family and they dont watch a movie at home. theatres and cinemas are very best choice for see a movie. When new movie realesed the movie are only see in theatres and cinemas. This reson many people go theatres and cinemas for watching movie,

On the other hand, many people are argue the theatres and cinemas. because they prefer watcging movie only at home not a theatres and cinemas. beacsue they do not spend thier money as well as save their money for oue childrens higher educations. theatres and cinemas movie ticket price were very high as well as the facilities are vary high cost, like the popcorn rate are very high and others. In my opinion, watching movie at home are best for all masses.I prefer to all digital age masses watching movie at home is best and always save your parents money.

On the way of conclusion, goverment should decrease all theatres and cinemas ticket price. as a result digital are masses are only intrest in watching movie at theatres and cinemas. as a result they totally waste our parents money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You attempt to discuss both views and state a preference for watching films at home, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the two positions are not explained accurately or developed clearly: the first paragraph gives reasons for going to cinemas, while the second begins by saying people prefer home viewing, despite its opening suggesting the opposite. The task also asks about economic and cultural importance, but these aspects are not meaningfully addressed. Ideas such as saving money for children’s education and high ticket prices are mentioned but not supported with clear explanation or examples. The conclusion introduces lower ticket prices, yet does not resolve the discussion consistently. Develop each view directly and make your own position clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt at an overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “On the other hand” signal a change in direction. However, the progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because ideas are repeated and connections are unclear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from a “very big view” to family viewing and then to new releases without explaining how these points relate. The second paragraph’s opening conflicts with its later explanation of home viewing. Linking phrases such as “as a result” are repeated and sometimes do not show a logical result. Organise each paragraph around one view, then connect each reason to its supporting explanation.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “movie ticket price,” “higher educations” and “watching movie at home.” However, the range is limited and key words such as “theatres and cinemas,” “people” and “movie” are repeated frequently, making the writing less precise. Several spelling errors, including “moden,” “opinnion,” “realesed” and “intrest,” reduce clarity and control. Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “very big view,” “save your parents money” and “all masses.” Aim to use accurate topic vocabulary and natural collocations, and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for the cultural and economic roles of cinemas would also help address the question.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences rely on simple patterns, and attempts to connect clauses do not yet show reliable control. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear throughout, as in “many people are go,” “the movie are only see” and “watching movie at home are best.” Articles and plural forms are also frequently missing or incorrect, for example “not a theatres” and “for oue childrens higher educations.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention: several sentences begin with lowercase letters, and the opening “In the moden of era, Some people…” is not correctly formed. These errors sometimes make the intended relationships difficult to understand. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled clauses using “because,” “although” and “which.”
