Student answer (Band 5.5)
Technology has revolutionized every aspect of human existence. some individuals believe that theatres and cinemas are not important in modern world, while other think tht both are still essential for culturally and economically. I discuss the both views in the ensuring paragraphs.
To begin with, people have their own online devices so they do not need to watch movies in theatres and cinemas. They can save the money and also time. People can watch movies online . Nowsdays, there are various websites which have free access for people to watch the movies. Secondly, people are hectic schedule and they have not enough time to watching movies on the big screen . when they have free time then they can watch onlines.
On the other hand, theatres and cinemas are still important for country growth because both theatres and cinemas are helping culturally and economically. People should spend money to buying ticket of cinemas and if they are going with all family then they can spend the time with them. Moreover, if people should spend time to watching movies online then this thing affect their health. They do not do and physical activity and screen also affect their eyesight. Today, obesityis the main problem in children because they are longer hours spend to watching movies. In addition, people also help the country economically. They should need to develop the country growth.
In conclusion, i would reiterate that if people are watch the movies online then this method is cost effective. on the other side, theatres and cinemas are important because they are helping economically and culturally. They can learn many things how to eat outside, how to meet with people when they are going outside because these things they do not learn at home.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and give a concluding view: online viewing is described as cheaper and more convenient, while cinemas are linked to cultural and economic benefits. This is relevant to the prompt, but the position is not consistently clear. The introduction says you will discuss both views, while the conclusion mainly repeats them rather than clearly stating which you support. Several points are also under-developed: for example, the claim that cinemas help a country economically is not explained with a specific mechanism, and the cultural value of theatres is not illustrated. The health and family-time points are relevant but need clearer links to why cinemas remain important. Develop fewer ideas with explanation or examples and state your own view directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph presenting the online-viewing case, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the second body paragraph moves from ticket spending to family time, health, obesity, and national development without showing how each point connects to the central argument. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “this method” and “these things” are not always precise. Group related ideas together and use clearer topic sentences and links that explain cause, contrast, or consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “online devices,” “free access,” “big screen,” “ticket,” and “economically and culturally.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “people are hectic schedule,” “help the country economically,” and “learn how to eat outside.” There are also spelling and form errors such as “Nowsdays” and “obesityis.” Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling and word forms. For instance, explain that cinemas create jobs and generate revenue, rather than saying only that they help economic growth.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “because,” “if,” and “when.” This gives the response some structural variety, but control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction and verb forms can make ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “other think,” “they have not enough time to watching,” and “if people are watch the movies online.” Articles, agreement, and punctuation also need attention, as in “in modern world” and the inconsistent capitalisation of “i” and sentence openings. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and using infinitives or gerunds correctly after verbs and prepositions. Proofreading each sentence for a clear subject and verb would improve accuracy.
