Student answer (Band 4.5)

Many individuals say that in this time of digital world cinemas and theaters are not much important because everyone watch their entertainments online. However, most of the people thought that theaters and cinemas are imperative for our culture recognization.

In this modern age, people prefers to watch movies and their other entertainments on their smart phones and laptops as campare to go to the cinemas. The big screens LCDs and projectors minimize the need of theaters because that things are held in every house. For instance, my siblings also like to watch dramas or fims on the television without any complicaton of moving out, getting ticket or managings things. These facilities reduces the public interaction and minimize the rate of gatherings. Digital devices increases the imagination of youngsters toward itself.

On the other hand, some people claims that theaters and cinemas are for our culture and economics. when we prefers to watch online entertainments it reduces our economics because when we go out to the that movie houses we pay for the tickets and use public transport whcih increases country ecnomy. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You introduce both viewpoints and give a relevant example about your siblings watching television, so the response is connected to the topic. However, the discussion is only partial: the online-entertainment view is explained more clearly than the cultural and economic case, which is asserted rather than developed. The claim that cinemas support the economy needs a specific explanation, and the cultural importance of shared experiences or live performance could be illustrated. Most importantly, your own opinion is unfinished: “In my opinion, I prefers watch my entertainments” does not state a complete position. The response is also below the required 250 words. Develop both sides with reasons and examples, then finish with a clear, supported opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting the online-viewing argument, a paragraph beginning “On the other hand,” and an attempted personal conclusion. These divisions help the reader identify the main stages of the discussion. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are placed together without showing their relationship—for example, the point about reduced public interaction is followed by a claim about youngsters’ imagination. Linking phrases such as “For instance” and “On the other hand” are useful, but the final paragraph stops before completing the argument. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, explain it, and connect the example directly to that reason; complete the conclusion so the essay has a clear ending.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “digital world,” “projectors,” “public interaction,” “live production,” and “country economy,” which shows an attempt to discuss technology and the wider effects of cinemas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear, such as “culture recognization,” “increases the imagination … toward itself,” and “minimize the rate of live production.” Spelling errors such as “fims,” “complicaton,” and “ecnomy” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural phrases rather than translating ideas word by word. For example, describe cinemas as “cultural institutions” and explain that they “support local employment and businesses.” Proofreading spelling and choosing standard collocations would make your ideas easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence with “because” and an example introduced by “For instance.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer ones. Examples include “everyone watch,” “people prefers,” “These facilities reduces,” and “some people claims,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. The opening also has an incomplete or awkward comparison structure, and the final sentence, “I prefers watch my entertainments,” is unfinished and grammatically inaccurate. Practise matching subjects and verbs, using infinitives after “prefer” (“prefer to watch”), and checking articles and plural forms. Build longer sentences only after ensuring that each clause is complete and correctly formed.
