Student answer (Band 5.0)

some people think that theatres and cinema are not much important because many people watch entertainment oline as compare to visit these places.Other say that these places are economicaly and culturally very important.

In my openion these places are worthless beacuse now a days people have not time to visit these places although these places have values for economically and culturelly.

As we know that this era is the era of techology.for example we have larged sized LCDs that we can intall in our homes and can enjoy entertainment at any time without wasting money and time.similarly computer also a good source of entertainment and information.people can watch movies online on netflix. there are many movies avaible on netflix and other websits by compare benefits of these online entainment resources we can neglect the economically and culturall benefits of these cinema and theatre.

Furthermore online sources like utube tiktok instagram, facebook also provide entertainment without any restriction.online entertainment save our money and time give us a confortable zone where we can easily watch whatever we want.Indeed theatre and cinema economicall and culturall playing important role but our goverment have many other ways to get benefits as economically because due to digital age these places become less mportant and as people have not time to visit such places so goverment get less benefits from thess places.

In conclusion, best source of enterntainment is oline sources.Large sized LCDs,computer, mobile, and many websits and apps playing there role to entertain people in their comfort zone.by using these entertainment resources we can watch any thing at any time.so the goverment should not waste their money on such resource.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall preference for online entertainment, especially in the opening and conclusion, and you acknowledge the opposing view by noting that theatres and cinemas have economic and cultural value. However, the discussion is only partial: the benefits of physical venues are mentioned but not explained or supported with an example, while most of the response develops the advantages of watching at home. The claim that these venues are “worthless” also conflicts with your later recognition of their value, making your position less consistent. To strengthen the response, explain both perspectives in comparable detail—for example, how cinemas support jobs and local businesses, and how shared viewing experiences preserve cultural traditions—then state why you consider one side more persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph about online entertainment, a further paragraph, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help signal stages of the argument. However, progression within the body paragraphs is not always clear: the discussion moves from large screens to computers, streaming services, social media, and government spending without clearly connecting these points. Some ideas are repeated, particularly the convenience and time-saving benefits of online viewing. The contrast between the two views would be easier to follow if each received a distinct paragraph and the conclusion followed from that comparison. Use referencing and linking more precisely so that readers can see how each example supports your main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “digital age,” “entertainment,” “economically,” and “culturally,” and the reader can generally identify your main meaning. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the argument difficult to follow. For instance, “by compare benefits” and “comfortable zone” do not express the intended ideas naturally, while “online sources” is repeated rather than varied with terms such as streaming platforms or digital media. Spelling errors—including “oline,” “avaible,” and “goverment”—also reduce clarity and control. Build a bank of accurate topic-specific collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will help you express comparisons and economic or cultural effects more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “although,” and “as.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and punctuation frequently make the reader work to understand the message. For example, “people watch entertainment online as compare to visit these places” has an incomplete comparison structure, and “online entertainment save our money and time” has a subject–verb agreement error. Several sentences run together without appropriate full stops, as in the section beginning “there are many movies available on Netflix.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with one clear subordinate clause. Check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
