Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued by some individuals that in the modren city, theatres and cinemas are no longer necessary as individuals can see all comedy movies they want on social media. On the other hand, some believes that watching movies in theatres and cinemas are still necessary both tradionallly and economically. In my opinion, people can watch our favourite movies and shows online is more convinient way.
On the one hand, some people believe that theatres and cinemas are no longer necessary as peoples can watch our shows and entertainment movies online. Firstly, watching movies at home can save more time. For example, if we go watch at cinema it takes a lot of time in travelling and then we bought a ticket standing for hours in big line.Secondly, we watch movie online anytime when we want.
On the other hand, some people believe that watching movie in cinemas and thaetres are still necessary. There are several reasons but important is that we can watch movies with our all friends. For example, our house is small so we cannot watch our favourite movie with friends so we can go to cinemas and watch our favourite movie there. In addition, we watch movie in very big screen and with full hd graphics that make the entertainment of movie double.
In conclusion, both watching movie at home and in cinemas are important but it depends on some basic factors. From my perspective, i strongly believe that watching movies online is more best way because it is also time saving and we watch anytime.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state your preference for online entertainment, so the response is relevant to the question. The reasons given—saving travel time, watching at a convenient time, sharing a cinema visit with friends, and enjoying a large screen—are understandable. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the economic and cultural importance mentioned in the prompt is not really explored, and the cinema-side examples focus mainly on personal enjoyment. Your position is also not fully consistent: the opening says online viewing is more convenient, while the conclusion calls it the “more best way” without clearly weighing the opposing view. Develop each side with fuller explanation and give a consistent, clearly supported opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and the repeated references to watching movies and favourite movies make the discussion feel repetitive. Some connections are unclear, such as moving from the small size of a home to the claim that cinemas are necessary for watching with friends. The opening and conclusion also do not connect the two sides into a clear overall argument. Use more precise referencing and explain how each example supports the point it follows.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “cinemas,” “entertainment,” “ticket,” and “big screen.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “watch movies” and “favourite movie.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, including “modren,” “tradionallly,” “convinient,” and “thaetres.” Some expressions are unnatural or imprecise, such as “comedy movies they want on social media” and “full hd graphics.” These choices can make the intended meaning less clear. Build a wider set of accurate terms for online viewing and the cultural or economic role of venues, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies mainly on simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to link ideas using “as,” “if,” and “so.” However, errors occur frequently in sentence structure and agreement, and they sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “some believes” should use a plural verb, while “watching movies in theatres and cinemas are” has a mismatch between the gerund subject and verb. The sentence “people can watch our favourite movies and shows online is more convenient way” combines clauses incorrectly. Articles, plurals, and punctuation also need attention, as in “in big line” and the missing space after the full stop in “line.Secondly.” Practise building accurate complex sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
