Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's digital era we have two opinions, one is that theatres and cinemas don't have any significant appeal because content is available online. The other idea is that cinemas and theatres are still valuable for economic and cultural benefits. In my opinion it is still important and has some value. Below essay will discuss both views and my opinion.
The people who thinks it is no longer important say this because of the available evidence. Thousands of users now stream online and watch their favourite Tv shows. They don't need to spare time and buy cinema ticket to watch shows. Everything is available on their phone screen. The rise in overall subscriptions of different otp platforms like netflix, amazon, hbo indicates that high number of users, use these streaming services to watch their favourite shows. That tells us that this trend will increase moving forward as internet and streaming platforms have been constantly working on further improvements of their services.
The other group of people, who thinks cinema and theaters are still important are different group of people. They believe cinema's experience cannot be created on screen. Some of them are sentimental too about cinema and linking it to their culture. The believe the experience that cinema provides has its own charm. There is economic factor as well which mostly cinema experts highlight. Because cinema industry supports thousands of people economically so that fact cannot be ignored.
Why i am in favour of Cinemas is not just because it has connection with our culture and economy, but also because it helps people to engage more in public. Also we can reduce the screen time if people prefer to watch movies in theatres.
In conclusion, it is a fact that content is widely available now on phone screen with help of streaming platforms. I believe cinemas shouldn't be wiped out from scoiety as it has cultural, economical and value of people engagement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state your position: you recognise the convenience of online streaming, then argue that cinemas retain cultural, economic and social value. These points are relevant, and the examples of streaming subscriptions and cinema employment help explain the opposing arguments. However, the discussion is unevenly developed. The online-view paragraph gives several related details, while the case for cinemas is asserted more briefly; for example, “supports thousands of people economically” is not explained with a specific illustration. Your own opinion is clear, but the point about reducing screen time could be linked more directly to why shared cinema-going matters. Develop each main claim with a concrete example or explanation to make the response more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, a paragraph stating your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the line of discussion easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “The other group” and “In conclusion.” At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. “The people who thinks it is no longer important say this because of the available evidence” does not clearly identify what evidence follows, and “Why i am in favour of Cinemas” creates a somewhat abrupt transition into your position. The conclusion repeats the main points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make references such as “that fact” more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “streaming services,” “subscriptions,” “cultural,” “economic,” and “screen time,” so your meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “cinema’s experience” and “public engagement.” However, some word choices and collocations are awkward or imprecise: “available evidence” is vague, “high number of users, use” is repetitive, and “value of people engagement” is not a natural phrase. Spelling and capitalisation slips, including “scoiety,” “Tv,” and inconsistent capitalisation of “Cinemas,” also reduce control. Aim for precise, natural combinations such as “the shared cinema-going experience” and “the industry provides employment.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “as,” and “which.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the paragraph structure helps the reader. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with subject–verb agreement and sentence construction. For example, “The people who thinks” should be “The people who think,” and “The other group of people, who thinks … are different group” has agreement and article problems. The sentence beginning “Because cinema industry supports…” is a fragment, while “The believe the experience” appears to be missing a subject or has an incorrect verb form. Review agreement, articles, and complete-sentence structure, then proofread punctuation and capitalisation.
