Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individuals say that in the digital era, there is no essential of theatres and cinemas, as online platforms are enough to watch all the entertainment, while others give an opinion on how they are linked both economically and culturally. I believe digital platforms provide enough entertainment through phones or other digital sources, while cinemas also play an important part in representing our culture as well as providing comfort.
On the one hand, advanced technology means everything is at one click, whether it's about geopolitical issues, entertainment, or trends. People tend to watch on one device. For instance, mobile phones are the biggest source of entertainment, where you can easily watch dramas, movies, or even you can watch video lectures if you are in academic life. Furthermore not everyone has time to go and watch movies or any enternmnet show on cimema as most of the people are in corporate or are in schools or universities, on there own convienece everyone watch any kind of shows.
on the other hand, we can't neglect the importance of cinema and threatres; specifically theatres are part of our culture. Cultural shows or real-life related stories are still popular in many places in the world; even online, it's rare to watch. Previous generations liked to watch theatres as it was a huge part of their life, as there was no entertainment source at that time. moreover, cimemas also play crucila role.for example when new movies relise they never come on any media plaatform they first release in cimemas for promotion and than on ther platfoems. one more advantage of cimemas are that you can get comfortable seat to sit and a big screen to watch without any noise and hurdles.
In conclusion, though online platforms provide all types of entertainments in any where in the world but theatres and cimemas have biggest linked with cultural as well as in entertainment point of view.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both perspectives and state your own view: online platforms are convenient, while cinemas and theatres retain cultural and entertainment value. The examples about busy students and workers, cultural performances, and films being released in cinemas support the discussion. This covers the task, but the two sides are not developed equally. The online argument is mainly about convenience, while the claim that venues matter economically is not really explained; the cinema-release example is relevant but needs a clearer link to economic benefits such as employment or revenue. Your conclusion repeats the position, though “biggest linked” leaves the relationship unclear. Develop each main point with a more specific explanation and make your opinion consistent and precise throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “on the other hand” help signal the contrast, and examples generally follow the points they support. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the first body paragraph moves from general technology to phones, then to people’s schedules without clearly connecting these ideas. Some linking words, such as “Furthermore” and “moreover,” are used mechanically, and the final paragraph introduces several points in a long sequence. Capitalisation at the start of paragraphs and clearer sentence boundaries would also make the organisation easier to follow. Group related ideas and use transitions that show the precise relationship between them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital era,” “entertainment,” “cultural shows,” and “promotion,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “geopolitical issues.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision and can make parts difficult to understand: “enternmnet,” “cimemas,” “crucila,” and “plaatform” obscure otherwise relevant ideas. Several phrases are also unnatural, including “there is no essential of theatres” and “biggest linked with cultural.” Repetition of “watch,” “entertainment,” and “platforms” limits range. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully; choosing simpler, precise wording is more effective than using ambitious expressions inaccurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “though online platforms provide…” and a relative clause in “where you can easily watch…”. The main ideas are usually understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation affect clarity. For example, “everyone watch” needs subject–verb agreement, and “not everyone has time to go and watch” is followed by an awkwardly joined explanation. The sentence beginning “when new movies…” contains several clauses joined without clear punctuation, while “one more advantage… are” has a singular–plural mismatch. Use shorter sentences when several ideas are involved, and check agreement, articles, and clause boundaries during revision.
