Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response recognises both views and gives a general preference for online entertainment in the opening, but the position is not sustained clearly: the conclusion mainly restates that people use digital sources while others prefer conventional viewing. The discussion of online viewing includes reasons such as avoiding queues and fixed schedules, yet these points are not clearly connected to the task’s broader claim about theatres’ and cinemas’ importance. The opposing view is especially limited: it mentions enjoyment and preserving culture, but does not explain their economic contribution or develop a relevant example. To strengthen the response, state a consistent opinion and explain both sides with specific, relevant support, including the economic and cultural roles named in the prompt. The length requirement is met; eight words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning with “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the two sides being discussed. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences, and links such as “Moreover,” “In addition to,” and “That’s why” are sometimes used mechanically. The relationship between the examples and the main claims is not always clear, and the conclusion does not clearly resolve the discussion with a firm opinion. Use one main point per paragraph, connect each example explicitly to that point, and use fewer, more precise linking expressions and clearer referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “entertainment,” “technology,” “promote,” and “culture,” and attempts phrases such as “quality time” and “permanent impression.” However, the range is limited and many word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning harder to understand. Examples include “the globe is modified accordingly,” “enormous que,” and “more accessibility of prior seats”; these do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “cinemea,” “oppurtunities,” and “signifcant” also reduce control. Build a more precise set of expressions for online viewing, live experiences, cultural value, and economic impact, and check spelling and common word partnerships before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example the sentence beginning “For example, In past most of families…” and the explanation introduced by “Because.” However, the range is limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently enough to make parts difficult to follow. Examples include “Some people believes,” “were replaced the sources,” “most of families were visited,” and “they had spend.” Several sentence boundaries are also unclear, as in the opening, where sentences run together without a space or suitable punctuation. Practise accurate past and present verb forms, subject–verb agreement, and complete sentence construction; then proofread punctuation and articles so that complex ideas remain clear.
