Student answer (Band 5.0)
Cinemas and Theathers are one of the oldest form of entertainment. In the growing field of technology some people say that they are not as important as they used to and can be repalced by online websites.I my self enjoy watching a lot of movies and highly recommend watching them in theaters.
Theaters and Cinemas carry a significant role in the economy. A hit cinema can bring a huge amount of viwers to watch the show as the show get a lot of attention it can earn a lot of money which can significatly boost the economy.
It is also cultuarlly important as many of our parents and grandparents grewup watching movies in the theaters rather than on a small screen, so genrally they have cultural and emotional values attached to them.
So to sum it up theaters and cinemas are as much important as they used to as they will be beacuse they hold an important values in our society and in our heart.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear opinion that cinemas remain important, and you mention both economic and cultural value. However, the task asks you to discuss the view that online entertainment can replace cinemas as well as the opposing view. The online side appears only briefly in the introduction, with no explanation of its advantages, such as convenience, lower cost, or choice. Your economic point is also asserted rather than supported with a specific example, and the cultural point focuses mainly on older generations. The response is 164 words, below the required 250, which leaves the discussion substantially incomplete. Develop both views with reasons and examples, then explain why your own position follows from them.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on economic and cultural importance, and a concluding sentence. This makes the main points easy to identify. However, there is little overall progression because the opposing view is not developed, and the body paragraphs do not build towards a balanced discussion. Linking is limited to phrases such as “It is also” and “So to sum it up,” while the economic paragraph repeats “show” and “a lot” rather than connecting ideas precisely. To improve, organise the essay around both sides of the debate, use clear topic sentences, and link each reason to an explanation or example before reaching your conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “economy,” “cultural,” “emotional values,” and “technology,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “Theathers,” “repalced,” “viwers,” “significatly,” and “cultuarlly.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “carry a significant role” and “as much important.” Repetition of “theaters and cinemas,” “show,” and “a lot” further restricts variety. Build a more accurate range of collocations for discussing entertainment and its effects, and proofread spelling. For example, use “play a significant role” and “attract a large audience.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate your main ideas using mostly simple sentence patterns, and the longer sentence beginning “A hit cinema can bring…” shows an attempt to explain a cause and result. However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction and agreement occur often enough to affect fluency. For example, “Cinemas and Theathers are one of the oldest form” has a plural subject with a singular verb and noun, while “as the show get” also needs plural agreement. The opening has a missing space after the full stop, and “they will be beacuse” contains a repeated auxiliary. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, then add controlled complex sentences to explain and compare ideas.
