Student answer (Band 5.0)

For entertainment, few things are more important than the role of cinema and theaters in the digital age.In many developed or developing countries, a substantial amount of attention is given to entertainment, as it often requires different resources such as sufficient funding, knowledge about technology, good environment and appropriate device.Nowadays many would agree that modern society is moving beyond its traditional boundaries, and the entertainment is becoming increasingly important for this modern society.Neverthless, I firmly believe that both views have some value but the theaters and cinemas are no longer important this statement is more convencing.

Naturally, some people believe that theaters and cinemas are no longer important for entertainment people can watch all types of entertainment in online, as it often creates valuable facilities such as reduce transportation difficulties, save time and money. Moreover, it demonstrates remarkable benefit for people, as it influences and improves many important areas of entertainment. If this is adopted by society alike many people can benefit significantly. For instance, when people have appropriate device and access to internet, they do not need to go outside from home for entertainment, which reduce transportation difficulties like stress or tiredness etc and save times.

Under certain circumstances, however, other people believe that theaters and cinemas are still important because of several reasons such as economically, culturally etc. While online entertainment is accepted in many major cities or developed areas, people from poorer or developing regions may face difficulties because of limited resiurces and access. Therefore, the idea of online entertainment does not seem always attractive or practical to everyone.

However, from my perspective, If the goals of entertainment is show that online entertainment is not merely an option but a necessity, then people may choose to accept a balance approach. Therefore, I believe that online entertainment is more suitable in this modern time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a position that online entertainment is more suitable today, and you include reasons such as saving travel time and money. You also mention the opposing view, referring to economic and cultural importance and unequal access in poorer regions. However, the discussion only partially addresses the prompt: the case for cinemas and theatres is not explained in terms of their cultural or economic contribution, and the point about limited internet access does not directly show why these venues remain important. Several claims, such as online entertainment being “a necessity,” are asserted rather than supported with a clear example. Develop both views with specific reasons and examples, then state your position consistently and explain why it follows from the discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding paragraph, so the reader can identify its broad structure. However, progression within and between paragraphs is limited. The first body paragraph repeats the benefits of online viewing—saving time, money, and travel—without adding much development, while the paragraph on the opposing view shifts to internet access rather than explaining cinemas’ cultural or economic role. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “For instance,” and “Therefore” are used, but some connections feel mechanical or do not clearly follow from the preceding idea. Build each paragraph around one main point, explain it, and connect the conclusion directly to the arguments already presented.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-related and less common vocabulary, including “substantial amount,” “transportation difficulties,” “developing regions,” and “practical.” This gives you a basic range for discussing entertainment and access. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “important,” “entertainment,” and “people,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear. For example, “valuable facilities” does not naturally describe the benefits of online viewing, and “the idea of online entertainment does not seem always attractive” is imprecise in context. Spelling errors such as “Neverthless,” “convencing,” and “resiurces” also affect clarity. Aim for precise expressions for cultural value, employment, accessibility, and shared viewing experiences.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “as,” “when,” and “which,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “the theaters and cinemas are no longer important this statement is more convencing” joins ideas without a clear grammatical connection. There are also agreement and form errors in “which reduce transportation difficulties” and “the goals of entertainment is,” as well as missing or inconsistent articles and punctuation. Sentence boundaries are often unclear, particularly where a full stop is followed immediately by a new sentence. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly attached supporting clause, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
